Purina gives my dog the itchy scratchies. I don't remember if I read it or once was told once but it was repeated that a vet told someone that Old Roy ( I think it's carried by Walmart) is better than feeding Purina. I feed my cats Purina canned food as a treat daily, but after reading that I don't know that I will anymore.

I am not surprised. This brand is total garbage. Sad. So sad for those animals.

OMG I was going to try the Purina One Beyond dog food but nope not now. I'll stick with the stuff from the feed store. Thanks for posting this.

WOW!! Thats terrible to think about! My mom and dad have two boxers and it just occured to me after reading that, they were on Kibbles and Bits but they switched to Purina Benefil, and the male has had seizures ever since! The vet doesnt know what has caused it, needless to say, they had to get BOTH male and female fixed because the seizures could possibly be passed down to the puppies. I might have the vet look into this. Hes over a year old, and started having them about 4 months ago (around the same time they switched food) Thanks for sharing!!!

I guess I'll be switching back to wellness. I'm currently feeding Purina, because it was less expensive and the main ingredient was still a meat. However, I'm not going to put my kitty at risk just to save a few bucks.

Wow, those are some scary comments! We switched from Purina for the little dog to BilJac, and she is doing so much better on it. Now I need to switch the big dog....

I'm glad that others are reading this...I was giving my cats Meow Mix but recently start giving them Purina Indoor Cat Chow. I noticed a lot of vomiting going on and thought maybe it was the new puppy because unfortunately I don't know what his former owner was feeding him (except scraps). We are currently feeding him an off brand from PetSmart, thank god. So I'm thinking it's the cats that are being sick, since I've never seen the puppy throw up and the cats hide when they do. It's a watery throw up with streams of a more solid liquid...they will no longer be getting ANYTHING from Purina.

I don't know. Do you remember the major recall where animals were dying due to the food (wheat gluten from China)? I remember many expensive "organic" brands were involved but there was virtually no problem with Purina. It wouldn't hurt to stay away from them for a bit, but I have a feeling this is a false alarm.

I wouldn't say this is a false alarm...considering how many pets are being sickened by this food. I have personally ( my own agenda ) have decided to feed my pets a raw diet. I've done a lot of research on this and I'm comforted by the fact that I will be giving them what nature intended.
