nasty dog food bugs :(

So I bought 8 bags of the Beyond One at Petsmart. I went to go open one and there were webs in it. Then I start looking at all the bags closer and they all have these little worm bugs in webs on them. I only opened one and didnt open any more. They were all sitting next to another big open bag and that didnt have bugs. So it must have come from the store. Gross. Gonna make hubby take them back for store credit.

Get then out of the house quickly! You don't want those to spread to your pantry.
I could be wrong, but it sounds like pantry moths which can be a terrible pain to get rid of. I had them once, the source was some dog treats. I had to throw out tons of stuff. It took forever to get completely rid of them.
I've learned since them that dog treats are the most common source.
And yes, they come from the store buggy.
Yuck.

Beetle larvae, I'm pretty sure. Happened to me too. I bought 7 bags of Beyond with these most recent coupons & I immediately put them in my freezer. I've never done that before, but then, I haven't stockpiled dog food since it happened to me. **shudder** I figured if these have any, or will be getting any, they dead now! mmmmhmmm!

Very common. I used to have the pet department at K Mart and we got infestations all the time.

they are the same ones that you find in noodles, flour etc.

remove the infected bag completely from the house and toss it (or if you just purchased it, take it back.) i would put the remainder in the freezer and then check them in a couple days to see if there are larvae etc.

Get these out of your house immediately. I think they might be moths which will invade your food and ruin everything. I got them in hamster food several years ago and they not only invaded my pantry, but also my vehicle. We had them building webs in the top of our cathedral ceiling - we would get a ladder and knock them down and they would build them right back. It took months to finally get rid of all of them - we had to bomb the house several times.

Very common with bird seed also...that is why you should keep bird seed in freezer until you are ready to use.
