    Default Guinea pig stuff

I can't find coupons for guinea pig stuff anywhere! I emailed the company that makes the food they like, and they're sending me a replacement for one that had bits of plastic in it, but no coupons! Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, but I haven't seen any. Petsmart does occasionally do a $5 off of a $25 purchase coupon, but I can't see spending that much at once! They don't eat that much! Mostly our critters (affectionately known as the squeebles) like to munch on the stuff we'd normally throw away-broccoli stems, cauliflower leaves, cabbage leaves, and stuff like that. Any suggestions on where to look for discounts on squeeble supplies?

If your GPs eat Kaytee brand, they will send you coupons if you contact them. I also give mine the veggie parts destined for the compost bin. We also have dogs and cats so the petsmart coupons work for me as we always need food for someone :)

Sometimes Harris Teeter has the GP food on BOGO and I try to stock up on the kind they like. Also look for clearance items. I found some GP food on clearance along with some dog treats. If yours like a particular brand like mine and dump out the kind they don't like it's more economical to spend the $ on the kind they will eat and not waste.

Good post, looking forward to reading what others offer.

Thanks, bugweena! I will email the Kaytee company, since our squeebles are timothy hay addicts! They are kind of picky, they only like the eight in one brand of food. I thought I did great to get a bag of the Hartz stuff on clearance for $2, but they picked all the stuff out that they liked, and left most of it in the dish. Then, they would squeak for more food! Our male, Dennis, absolutely refuses to eat sunflower seeds, and he doesn't like corn. He's weird!

Kaytee brand is my choice as well, but we buy for birds not guinea pigs. My friend has piggers (she calls them) and she loves them. I think when my son gets older I will get one for him.
