Buddy The Wonder Dog - a reminder on just how smart dogs are

i saw this on tv last night and it really got me thinking.

long story short...alaska trooper was sent to a house fire in a subdivision that covers a wide area and some roads do not have signs. his gps wouldnt work there. he traveled around trying to find this fire...was stopped at a stop sign and was going to go left...a moement caught his eye and he followed that movement straight. he then saw this dog running in the road in front of him looking ahead and then looking behind him...the dog then turned up a road which was the road the trooper was to go to (sign posted) and then up to a driveway where the trooper then saw the house fire.

come to find out, the dog then went back and did the same thing for the fire truck.

trooper video caught the dog on tape and you can see it.

i know i say "stupid dog" sometimes when referencing my dog...but in reality they are very smart. got to wonder if they understand us when we talk.

I believe it and I am so thankful for my "lazy dog" as I can be heard saying to him quite a bit. We had an attempted break in to our home last month. They got my daughter's bedroom window screen off and pried her window lock and had the window all the way open. My dog went nuts and the police believe that based on the way my dog acted towards them when they came to check it out. Hubby & I were at work this whole time and the kids were at school. My neighbor noticed the window wide open and the screen laying on the ground and called the police as she knew something was not right. The police said he was acting like a vicious animal and would not even let them near the window. They had my 8 yr old daughter who had just gotten to the neighbor's house where she goes after school grab him so they could go through and clear the house. The neighbors were even shocked because they know our dog is just the sweetest thing and rarely even barks. He was protecting his home.

I saw the video, dogs are amazing and valuable creatures. They offer so much I can't understand why people abuse them the way they do.
