Couponing for a local shelter
Hello All,
I am VERY new to couponing and have been taking the last month or so to read through tips! For my first haul I would LOVE to do something for a local no kill shelter!
I know that if you call Tidy Cats @ 800-778-7462 every 60 days you can get coupons and at walmart this would make a bag of litter almost Free! The only problem is there is only one of me! (Do any of you know how to get a mass group to do this and possibly mail the coupons to an organizer?)
Does anyone know any other deals that would make any of the following items Free or close to free with coupons? (Local stores: Walmart, Kroger/Payless, Marsh, Meijer)
For the animals
- Dog and cat treats. No colored biscuits, please.
- Cat and pocket pet litter. Any brand, clay, corncob or paper litter only, please. We do not use scoopable litter. Special Kitty Cat Litter from Wal-Mart is great!
- Esbilac, KMR and puppy and kitten nursing bottles and nipples
- Advantage or Frontline topical flea preventatives
- Dog toys. Kong toys, hard rubber bones (Nylabone, etc.), tennis balls, rope bones
- Cat toys. Balls with bells, catnip toys, fur mice, etc. Nothing with strings, please.
- Food and water bowls, all sizes (metal only; no plastic bowls please)
- Pet carriers and cages, all sizes
- Rabbit pellets and alfalfa hay
- Chew sticks, exercise balls, wheels, and small cardboard boxes for pocket pets
- Towels, blankets or rugs, any size, new or used
Cleaning Items
- Household bleach and laundry detergent
- Sponges, scrub brushes, gloves, spray bottles, dustpans with brushes and other cleaning supplies
- Anti-bacterial hand sanitizer
Office Products
- Reams of 20# laser and copy paper, colored and/or white
- Office supplies (stamps, pens, pencils, Sharpies, Post-It notes, hole punches, etc)
Any help/ideas/tips would be amazing! I really want to do some good, just not sure if it is possible! I do not have a lot of money to donate with, so couponing would make it stretch a lot!!
Thanks everyone!

Re: Couponing for a local shelter
That is so sweet of you to start up something like this. I used to work at a no kill shelter and people would donate food and litter all the time. Great Job!
