Clinico offers discount spay/neuter to help cats "Beat the Heat" in the Los Angeles area
Group Extends Low-Cost Cat Spay/Neuter Service
California's Clinico spay/neuter facilities in San Pedro and Van Nuys are offering low-cost spay and neuter services for cats until May 31, to help local cat owners “Beat The Heat!” As part of this promotion, male cat neuter services cost only $15 and female cat spay services cost only $25.
These services can cost between $100 and $400. The discount cat spay/neuter service offers savings of up to 96%.
The event focuses on cats because cats are able to reproduce extremely quickly, especially in the spring. When too many cats produce too many litters, shelters can become overwhelmed and may face the tragic reality of having to euthanize underage kittens the same day they enter the shelter.
“With so many pet owners struggling financially in the down economy, it is more important than ever to make sure that low cost and free resources are available in our community,” said Noel Jackson, director of operations for Clinico.
Clinico representatives say spaying and neutering cats offers a series of health benefits, including better behavior, reduced cancer risk and reduced risk of unwanted litters. In addition, according to the dog and cat care group, fixing cats helps to prevent more strays on the streets, which often prey on wildlife, cause vehicular accidents, harm children and destroy landscaping.
Clinico’s San Pedro clinic is located at 957 N. Gaffey Street San Pedro, Calif., and is open Saturday through Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Clinico’s Van Nuys clinic is located at 14409 Vanowen Street Van Nuys, Calif., and is open Saturday through Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For appointments, cat owners can call toll-free (888) WE-SPAY-LA or (888) 937-7295. Other low-cost services, such as microchipping and vaccinations, as well as other opportunities for low-cost spay/neuter services by breed and/or zip code, are also available.
“Taking advantage of free and low cost spay and neuter services now will help pet owners avoid the cost and hassle of unwanted litters, and save thousands of otherwise loving and healthy companion animals in our communities from euthanasia,” Jackson said.
