If anyone with (or without) a big dog is looking for a GREAT dog bed. I was in Pier 1 today and bought 2 Papasan cushions for $14.89 each! They are normally $60. I have a New Foundland and a Golden and they could easily fit together comfortably on one. Since dog beds are so expensive this was a nice break!

oh this sounds really cool! My poor doggie needs a new bed. How the heck do you clean a big bed that doesn't have a cover that comes off??? I finally threw hers out.

I was thinking of making a cover that I can take on and off and throw in the wash. But for $15 you could almost buy 2 cushions and throw one out when it gets really nasty and still have a spare. I got the idea for a dog bed from one of the girls who work there. She told me she bought one for her dog really cheap. She said to just keep looking online or in the store because they do go on sale. I guess when these wear out I hope there will be another sale!!!! It's the best thing for my Newfie! No dog beds are big enough for her.

you can take old towels and sew them together and put velcro at one end and slip the pillow in it. towels are thick enough that they will hold up and can clean easy.

or take a sheet and make a pillow case with velcro too. personally i would double the sheet up just so it would hold. kind of like a slip cover for the dog bed.

all else fails, it might fit in a big washer at the laundromat.

my Papasan chair has become my dog bed. I put it beside my bed when I put the Christmas tree up and it never made it back down stairs. The dogs decided they liked it there. it keeps them outta my bed so I decided to leave it.

BTW mine was FULL PRICE (chair and cushion) a pretty pricey dog bed.
