    Default Opinions on Pet Fountains

I have been looking at Pet fountains and have heard that they are really good for your animals because it causes them to drink more water - with the water moving intriguing them and all.... Any opinions on these? Any you would recommend or not recommend? How often do you have to change the filters? Any good deals anywhere?

I have never heard of such a thing. Wow.

But when my doggy would drink from moving water, like out of a hose he would start coughing cause he would get too much air in the process.

Our cat likes to drink from the tap rather than his bowl. The only downside I have heard from the pet fountains is that some make a noise that can be scary to the animal.

I have one at home for my cats and they seem to like it. I forget what kind it is but it has a washable filter in it so we don't have to replace it.

It can get a little noisy when the water level gets low, and one of my cats likes to stand in it and fling water out of the fountain part with her paw, but otherwise it's great.

I think I bought it at Petsmart for about $30

I have one because my cat would rather drink out of the tap too. One word of caution - if you live in a place that has hard water like we do, we use bottled water or filtered water to put in the fountain. If you don't the base and the motor will scale up & you will have to replace it. Speaking from experience.

my sister used one. one word "yuck". lots of water to try and control where it goes. if you have a slobbery dog, the water gets slobbery. dog hair gets in it and anything else you can image. lots of work to clean.

i find the toilet is nice if they can reach it. dont use harsh chemicals and leave the seat up (so it isnt wet when you sit down) ...then you can just flush it.
