Cat's Pride Cat litter I HATE YOU!

Has anyone gotten the new kind of Cats Pride litter? The flushable kind? I hadn't really realized that they changed the formula. I found it on sale for $2.99 and I had some $1/1 coupons so I got 9 bags. I have used it in the past and it was fine.....

This is one of the worst litters!
1. Odor absorbing qualities are non existent! The cat goes and it immediately starts to smell, even though they have buried it...then smells until I scoop it!

2. Tracks horribly! I have a litter box in a room off my bedroom and my dresser is about 5 ft away. I have litter all over my dresser from them having it on their feet when they leave then jump on my dresser I guess on the way out.

I have 9 bags of this stuff it is horrible. I just went out today and bought Tidy Cat and it just kills me I will have to toss the 4 bags I used in my 6 litter boxes then figure out if I want to return this stuff to the store or what. I have sent an email to Cat's Pride last night and hope to receive a response. I didn't even address the tracking issue which really bugged me this morning.

Has anyone out there tried this stuff and like it? The only redeeming quality is it is flushable, but I don't even do that because it is kinda impractical for me to do that with 6 litter boxes.

u can use the litter for when it snows. I know we use it when we run out of ice melt. Sorry for your expierance. i would contact them and ask for a refund.

Where I live it snows maybe 2 times a year and when it does it doesn't stick around but usually for a day. I think I am going to just take it back to the store I bought it so I have the money I now need to buy the litter that I need to replace it which will be $18+ including tax. Luckily the receipt was really easy to find.

I would love to donate it, but I really need the money to buy the litter to replace it right now.

Totally agree. I bought the stuff and it was horrible. Does nothing about odor. I wouldn't flush it for love nor money, either.

Save it though, it will work to soak up oil spills from the driveway or other liquid spills good enough to justify keeping it.

I too went back to buy Tidy Cat, and also used the Arm & Hammer at the other house for those cats. Both work reasonably well, with a preference for the Tidy Cat.

Maybe you or your husband know someone who works on their vehicles and could use it for oil absorbant, and offer it to them for a few $ or trade for something.

If nothing else, you could donate it to a local shelter.

This is the reason we use Fresh Step only. We buy it is 42 LB bags at Sam's Club. We have 7 cats = 5 litter pans. I dont mind paying the higher price for the peace of mind knowing it will be fresh smelling in our house.

Arm and Hammer scoopable is great. Always used it for my 2 cats and never had a problem with odor. As long as you scoop it daily and box is always clean. Everyone, including cats are happy.

I had tried A+H and didn't like it but that was a few years ago...I didn't like how it didn't clump well. I wonder if they changed the recipe.... I might give it a try again if I can get it cheap enough. I really do like Tidy Cat and I get $1/1 coupons for it often enough and the people that swap cannibalized inserts with me, none of them have cats so I am lucky in that respect.

I am paying $3.99 for 20lbs of Tidy Cat...I won't complain. I am lucky there happens to be a sale right now along with $1/1 coupons that double.

Please don't throw the litter away. If there is a local cat rescue (e.g. feral cat rescue) or even SPCA, take it there. And definitely contact the company. That sounds awful.

ITA. Shelters are always looking for litter donations. I also agree about contacting the company.

I returned the litter, I would NEVER just throw it away-not sure why that is assumed-other than the comment about having to TOSS the litter that i had just put in my pans...can't exactly give away already used litter can I?
And the company never responded to my email, I will never buy Cats Pride again whether or not they change the formula.
I managed to purchase 12 of the 14lb tidy cat jugs for $3.99 each after coupons...not the best deal but hopefully it will get me through until I can find a better deal.
