I don't know of any agencies or anywhere that will help with pets (at least around here it is unheard of) But I do have a suggestion, and you may have already tried, not sure. My Vet is awesome, if you are having financial difficulty, you just have to let him know that money is an issue, and he will see and treat your pet for almost nothing. When we had our Dachshund he jumped off of the stairs chasing something, and hurt his back (slipped disk or something) We took him to our Vet for an emergency visit, told the receptionist that money was an issue, she let him know this, and he saw him, gave him a shot for the spasms, put his Frontline on for the month, gave me at home instructions, and waited with him until the pain went away, (about 30-45 mins) and only charged me $30 for it. We have been going there for years. Now, I don't take advantage of this of course, because he does a lot of work for the local SPCA, if I can squeeze full price in, that's what we do, but we do know that if there is an emergency, and we can't pay the bill, he will cut most of it off.

The point of my book here is that it never hurts to ask if they can give you a better deal, or payment plans or whatever. HTHs a little bit, and Good Luck!!

Try IMOM Home They MAY be able to help you. I'm not sure if your situation meets their guidelines but it is worth a try. I can personally vouch for this organization. They will help if they can.

Do you have a local animal shelter? Ours has a small clinic that is part of the shelter where they do low-cost routine care (vaccines, bloodwork, etc). It may not be advertised, but call and ask to see what's available.

Also, like cpsigner said, have a frank discussion with your vet's office about costs. You won't be the first one to ask. You may be able to just get the blood drawn and a script written out.

hi, i wanted to say a belated thanks guys!.. Ca is a place unto itself!
Bc I do have a good history, w/ this vet, they'll now work w/ me, on monthly payments. Really great vets..I just have to make sure, that if i need ER care, they'll still help out..

I'm still trying to find and going to look, at some of places, y'all suggested.
    Thks~

I also lived in the Carolina's.. soo much more friendlier then ca.. and yes, the vets did help.. a lot.. sometimes.. I'm homesick,

note: tidycat 2 $$ off Q's , i've seen a fair amt, of those on the big jugs~

$140 for T4 test is extremely expensive - it's just a simple blood test! My dog has the same problem and we pay way way less! We paid $140 recently for the complete histopathology! So $140 is a total ripoff. We buy thyroid meds online at www.1800petmeds.com and you find promo code for them everywhere. Much cheaper!

I do not know if this will help you...but I have been trying to do a little research myself on a similiar subject. I recalled seeing something that was more nationally base list of organizations. Problem is, some do not have the funding anymore...but worth a look for help in your area.
    Having Trouble Affording Your Pet?

    HTHs

PS...I was able to get 3 petsmart/manf coupons for 60 lbs of tidycat on an auction site for $9-10. Were for Free 20 lb jug or $8.99 off larger. A bit worried, I went in and used them on their current sale for the 30lb buckets ($9.99) . Perfectly legit coupons, much to my relief as I would have been so embarrassed. So spending the $3 extra plus the $2 tax and roughly $10 for Coupons it cost me $15 for 90 lbs of scoopable kitty litter. So, thank goodness am set for that for a little while. I thought 16 cents a lb was a good price. Do not know if I will be able to afford to keep the kitten, but if I give him up they will have litter for him.

90 lbs of kitty litter for 15$$?>?? WOW... thats fantastic!
i've never gotten litter that cheap.. i'm still amazed and even more stunned, to think of 90 lbs, lol
I'm betting the more you bond w/ your kitten, you'll end up, never wanting to part~.. One just seems to find a way, to take care of them, they're just like your children.. at least mine are~ :)
I've moved cross country, w/ 2-4 cats and always found a place to rent, w/ all of them.
(I started out telling them, i had 15.. and so when i told them only 4, it wasn't so bad, ) lol

    ps: I appreciate everyone's help.
