I have heard of people making their own cat food I have a very pickey cat that does not eat the little crumbs at the bottom of the bag LOL. But im not into raw meat at all. So has anyone tried this and if so with what recipe and whats your story?

I've had friends who've done this, but I have not yet tried it myself. Please, if you do it, make sure you get cat vitamins (that have taurine and other goodness that our human meats don't have) because cats need the nutrients they'd get from eating the little mice bones and stuff, that don't come in the muscle part of an animal). Otherwise, the kitty can get sick/die.

It's totally doable! There are lots of good recipes on the net. Just wanted to give you that one leetle warning. :-D Good luck!

I made my own raw food for about a year (I only stopped because our oldest cat would vomit raw, so I now feed grain-free canned). Like Betsy33 said, you MUST use a balanced recipe to make sure they get all the nutrients they need. If it's a balanced recipe, you don't need to feed vitamins.

Here's an excellent web site with recipes and information, from someone who's been making raw for years. If you don't want to buy a meat grinder, you can do what I did and find a local butcher to grind the ingredients up for you.
