My baby is getting neutered today
I dropped Jerry off this morning and getting ready to pick him up. Those big eyes looked at me while they carried him off and he looked like he was saying "Mommy, where are they taking me?" I almost cried

Re: My baby is getting neutered today
I'm sure he's doing fine. At school, I teach a vet asst program and Wed are spay/neuter days, we spay/neuter a few dozen each week..........very routine procedure. And it's much better for his health.

How is he doing?
When Roscoe got neutered, I brought him home and he whined and cried all night like a baby. He totally milked it. The next day, less than 24 hours later, he was running around the house like a wild banshee. I was a wreck hoping he didn't rip out his stitches or hurt himself.

Re: My baby is getting neutered today
I completely can relate with you on this.....my dogs are like my kids and I am always saying I wish I could just take all the hurt away from both my kids and my dogs. We had to put my one dog down 2 weeks ago and you can just imagine how sick I was over it!
Let us know how Jerry is doing!
We had our little girl Emmi spayed a few months back and I was so afraid she was going to rip her stitches out too because she is so playful! Since we had to put our little boy to sleep, she has been much more mellow and I think she is going through her own little depression right now....but we are trying to love on her and get hr through this along with ourselves!
Take care!

Re: My baby is getting neutered today
I'm not sure how old Jerry is but I know he has a much higher chance of a longer, healthier life because of this. He won't be "held hostage" by his hormones and he'll be a happy boy. You did the right thing for your baby and he will know it.

Re: My baby is getting neutered today
Thanks. I felt so bad when I picked him up. He just layed in the back seat and didn't move. He really hates that e-collar and has figured out how to get out of it already! Jerry is 1. I adopted him from a family that kept him in a cage day and night. Can you imagine a beagle in a cage? Last night he jumped down from my bed (he's a jumper). I pretty much carried him everywhere last night (he's 16 lbs) and let him sleep with me. This morning he seemed fine, except for that stupid collar! He has to wear it though because he won't stop licking himself.
I know I needed to do that, but with my surgery last month I was unable to do it until now. He humps everything at the dog park so now I can take him (once he heals) without worry!
