    Default Rainbow Bridge Pet Memorial

I thought with a lot of pet lovers who have recently lost their beloved fur babies, it would be nice to create a Pet memorial for our furry friends. A place to post memories, pictures, etc. and to help each other when our furry babies cross over on Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I love this poem. My cat Satin passed away on of all days New Years Day. He was a special cat. He was born with no chest bone, so he never knew saw another cat, and never saw outside (except from the window) he developed Congenial Heart Failure at 2 and he fought really hard for a year. He was the best cat anyone could have, we were lucky he was in our lives. Sometimes, I think our dog is still mourning him. He still only mopes around the house.

    Thanks for this thread!!!

Hi all. I just lost my best friend two days ago. Her name was Sydney and she was an 8 year old Golden Retriever. Her death was sudden and unexpected, we still are not quite sure what she died from other than gastroentritis.
She was the most lovable, gentle, easy going dog you will ever saw. She had the neighborhood kids coming to the door asking if they can take her for a walk. She touched the hearts of my entire neighborhood, family and friends. She adored being patted and loved to take long walks or accompany me on my runs. Her favorite was the weekend when she would jump on the bed and squeeze between me and my husband. Then he would take her for a ride to get Dunkin Donuts.
I am grieving deeply, can't stop the tears. She was like one of my kids and I will never forget her. Please keep her in your pet prayers. Thanks. Lisa

Awww....this is so nice to have this! We had to put our baby boy Brutus down 2 weeks ago and he was the light of our lives! He was the first dog I have ever owned that watched tv with us and he absolutely despised the Geico gekko!!! Every time he saw another animal on tv, he would bark at them! He was such a funny little guy and we were devastated when we learned only a month prior to having to put him down that he had lymphoma! He was only 4 years old and was taken from us much too soon! We miss his dearly! The night before we had to put him down, we made paw imprints in Sculpy clay and baked them....and I have his footprints along with his favorite toy (which was his Kong toy) up on our Mantle along with his picture that we had taken professionally only a few weeks prior to him being diagnosed with lymphoma!
Thanks for creating this post! And my heart goes out to those that have been in my situation!

I had to put my dog down yesterday. I miss him terribly. I hope he knows I loved him. I have guilt about sometimes yelling at him. If he were here right now, I'd hug and kiss him and tell him, "I love you."
He left a big hole in my heart.

I can relate to all of your stories, and my heart goes out to all of you. I know how hard it is. I lost my baby boy Buddy almost 3yrs ago (it will be 3 yrs on Nov 14th). He was a full blooded chihuahua and was full of spunk. Everytime I think about him I cry. I even found my daughter in her bedroom the other night crying. She had pulled out his memory box filled with his toys and pictures and stories we wrote to him. It was heartbreaking. We miss him so much and he will never be replaced. Keep your heads high! This poem is beautiful and it hit the right spot. I am going to share it with my daughter! Thank you !!

My baby Lucy was acting weird on 10-10-10 early in the morning . I couldnt get her to eat or even move around , ended up at the vet they out her in animal ICU and she ended up passing away . It was so hard , she was so close to my mom and to have them both gone within 3 months both sudden. People just dont understand our pets are like our kids .
