The Cocker will eat anything, including pills by itself. My other geriatric Spaniel mix will foam at the mouth trying to spit out the pill hidden inside any tasty tidbit. If she gets a pill when she's really hungry (like right before dinner), she's less likely to reject it.

Something else about Cockers -- they may have aggressive tendencies due to over-breeding. Our Cocker is absolutely sweet and devoted to us... until he thinks we are taking away food or a favorite object (like a smelly sock!) DH and I have both been bitten and our poor Spaniel mix has been attacked twice within his short two months with us. Luckily, he hasn't tried to bite anyone else. I am calling the vet today for a referral to a trainer specializing in aggression. What a split personality!!
