Snuggie For Dogs-Not in Large/XL

So I was at WAGs the other day and saw pink snuggies for dogs near the breast cancer stuff. Well I thought that was pretty cute. Til I realized that the Large wasn't gonna fit my pup. He's about 27inches long which puts him right above the large/XL sold in most places like target, WM, etc. At least by size.

I was wondering if anyone had bought one and could give me an idea as to how true the sizes run. Or if they had bought one for a German Shephard/Labish mix that fit. He has the naked lab armpits and tummy and he'd like to have some warmth this winter without me paying $40-50 for a coat. I don't even spend that for my coats most times.

I can't sew or I'd buy one and pattern it and make one that fit right. No crafty friends either. :sad:

I have an Australian shepherd and the large fit her, tho it didn't last long since she chews a lot.
