Do you mean the cat is 1 1/2 years or months old? For young cats you can soak the dry food in a little warm water until it gets soft and then give it to the cat. How does she react to the canned food? Maybe she has mostly had canned food and is not used to dry food. Just try different things and observe what works best for her. For me personally, I feed my indoor cats only dry and they just munch on it when they feel like it throughout the day and night.

I went to Kroger last night and they were having a sale on Friskies Indoor cat food. My cat has to eat speciality food, so I coupon for the animal shelter we got our animals from- anyway, the cans were on sale for .69 and I had a catalina for $1.00 off six/had a coupon for buy one get one free pounce treats.. they were on sale for $1.29 for a big bag.
That's just an example. Some more I have found in the past month I have been couponing is matching up when the store has a sale and a buy this get one free. I hope that helps some. :)
We have seven cats and the best thing is to find high dollar or free coupons through eBay or clipping services and plan your purchases around the coupons. Using that strategy combined with sales, rebates and double coupons I've managed to pay very little out of pocket to feed my very spoiled group of kitties : )
