Hmm, I've seen that box before but always wondered how you get the pee that clumps to the bottom of the pan out? I have a couple of my cats that seem to dig all the way to the bottom and pee right on the plastic, which leaves a claylike mess to scoop up. Do you scoop to loosen it first and then roll or does it just not even stick to the bottom of this thing? Trust me, with 7 cats I'm always looking for an easier litter system

When you roll it to completely upside down you hit the bottom with your hand/fist and they break right off.

I think after we are out of this "yesterday news" I want to try the roll away. I was just so afraid of investing in a new box(I invested in littermaid and it was a waste of money and time). We have 4 cats and anything to help DH out with doing it as often as he is suppose to be doing it...DH ->

For the people who have the Roll Away litter box:
How often do you 'roll' it?
It looks rather small, how many cats do you all have that use this?

I have two cats. It does come in two sizes, we have 'extra large'. Both of our cats are considered "large breed"; there is plenty of room. I usually roll it every two days. It all depends on how picky your are and your cats are about the cleanliness of the box. My cats usually come and 'tell' me when they want it cleaned.

haha...Thank you so much for getting back to me. With 4...an extra large one done every day or twice a day should be great...I now just have to get rid of this pesky "Yesterday's News" stuff.
My two males are "large breeds" and the two females are petite...

Thanks so much for all of the feedback! I now have lots of good info and ideas. It sounds like a lot of people like Tidy Cats which is what I have mostly been using. But this last time I got it in a 27 lb. bucket (It was the 24/7 performance and $2 off at HEB) and it didn't smell as fresh as when I got it in the jug. Could be that they have improved it and this bucket was the older version. I think the new stuff has to say "Tidy Lock" on the label. I sent an E-mail to the company and they sent me a lengthy explanation of what type of fragrance each one has and They say the 24/7 has a new fragrance, Fresh Fabric Care, and the Small Spaces has the Refreshing Breeze fragrance. They are going to send me a coupon!

I also have the Omega Roll Away litter box and LOVE it. I use Tidy Cats Long Lasting or whatever it's called. I spend about 1 minute every day (sometimes every other day if I'm lazy or forget) rolling it. Then about once or twice a week I add 2 cups or so of cat litter. And every 2 months I dump the litter, wash out the box & put new litter in. I had the box in my bedroom with 3 cats and the only time it would smell is right after they'd go. Other than that our room was odor free. Now the cats are at my parents (roommate has a cat and wouldn't help with litter or cat for, just let me do it all.. so we didn't want to deal with that anymore) and my sister is much lazier so it smells. Ugh. I can't wait until I move back in there and start taking care of business.

Our litter box is in the bathroom and hubby always complained about stepping on the scattered litter. I switched to a brand called Aristocats (yeah, a Disney litter) and it is wonderful. It is a fine pine shaving but it clumps when she wets. The bathroom smells like pine and no crunching litter underfoot. It's weird but when we shower and the pine fills the air it's kind of relaxing.

My cats don't like the Pine stuff, they refused to use the litter box, went outside. They also didn't like the Tidy Cat Small Spaces litter, had to mix that with tidy Cat Clumping. Tidy cat is what I usually buy as there usually cpns for it. Will buy Fresh Step or Arm & Hammer if cheaper than Tidy Cat. Now that it is summer only clean the 2 litter boxes out once a day but in the winter at least 4 times a day each box. I have both liter boxes up off the floor. One is on a plastic 18 gallon tote and the other is on a large end table but lower than an end table. I have Rheumatoid arthritis and have had a hip replaced so bending down is a problem. BTW I have 11 cats.
