Default I need a "soft" dry food for my cat?

My cat eats canned food, but I'd like to supplement with a dry food. But, I need to find one that is not hard. I need something like some of the dry soft cat treats....but only in cat food.

Does anyone know of any brands that carry this? I went through the aisle feeling all the dry cat food bags...but they all felt really hard to me.

Thanks!

I used to see some in a jug and in pouches but haven't in a long time. I don't know why they don't sell them anymore, at least where I live. You can wet the hard food and it will soften up. Don't drench it but just moisten it.

Years ago, semi-moist food like Tender Vittles were sold. Unfortunately, these foods were loaded with preservatives and chemicals. IMO if you're already feeding canned food twice/day, you don't need any dry food.

I would just take the wet food and put a bit of warm water in it and let it sit so it softens up. It's what my brother does with his dog - who is missing many teeth.

Thanks for the info about adding a little water. Duh, what was I thinking.

We do feed her twice a day, but she seems like she's starving all the time.

Meowing all over the place, so I thought a little dry food for those hunger spurts. I'll give it a try and see.

Oh, yeah....I do remember the Tender Vittles. I thought there used to be something out there like that.

Repped you!

I was going to say Tender Vittles, but it was discontinued about two years ago. I remember because my grandmother's cat used to eat it. However, it's still sold in Canada. :shrug7: I would just take some dry food and add a little bit of water to soften it up, or give her treats thoughout the day. Even if you feed her wet food twice a day, leaving dry food out will not hurt her.
