Default Good deals on cat litter?

How the heck do you find good deals on cat litter anyway? I have a ton of the $1/1 Tidy Cats qs and they expire 4/30 so I need to start looking for the deals! What IS a good deal for cat litter? We usually just get the plain, cheap kind b/c the other is so expensive.

I use the regular clay litter; it has a lot less dust and my 4 cats for some reason all decide to go in one box so the clumping litter is just not an option. (well, unless we follow the cats with scoops all day ).

Walmat has the regular tidy cat clay litter 1.77 for a 10 lb bag here. So with the coupon it is .77 for 10 lbs which for me was great. I bought about 30 bags . We scoop the poo out daily and just dump the whole litter box every few days.

I can never get enough coupons for Tidy Cat. When I do have coupons my kitties get Tidy Cat, usually $1.77-2.09 at my stores. Otherwise they have to settle for the store brand which is around $1.50. I usually add a box of baking soda to the store brand litter to keep it fresher longer.

Yeah, just went to Wal-Mart and it costs 5.xx for a 30lb bag which is the smallest they have. I guess I'll have to look for deals at the grocery stores for the smaller bags, just never find any sales on them usually.

We get the cheap stuff, clay I think, then a small box of the scoopable for multiple cats, throw a small layer of it on top of each so it blends in every few days and it keeps it smelling ok. Lasts us longer that way. :shrug7:HTH

If you call Tidy Cat's toll-free #, they will send you (2) $2/1 coupons for your choice of Purina Cat Food or Tidy Cat Litter. I ask them for the Tidy Cat. Then I wait until there's a BOGO sale on the 40 lb. bags. hth

Also, I pick several bags up at once, and then leave it in the trunk of my lightweight little car, until I need one brought in. The weight helps w/ driving in icy conditions in the winter.

You can also email them through the Tidy Cat website. I did a few weeks ago, telling them most of the Tidy Cat coupons I see are for the scoopable kind, not the clay kind, and they sent me 2 $2 coupons

I buy cat litter at Costco. It is their in-house brand called Purrfect Cat Litter (?) and is scented with lemongrass. It is $6.99 for 30 lbs and works great. :) I gave up on the sales and coupons for kitty litter as it was stressing me out and my cats. I never could remember which kind I liked and didn't like and that made for some big d'oh moments. Now I just pick up the Costco litter every time I go there.

If you have a SAV-A-LOT grocery store in your area, you can get a 14lb jug of scoopable "generic" brand for about $3.99!! Not too bad of a deal...I keep an eye out everywhere. Also cat litter is a good deal at Family Dollar...Good Luck...I'm in the RI/ MA area.

I usually get mine at Jewel when they have them on sale and they take expired coupons. Sometimes I will get some cheap litter at the dollar store and mix it up with the good one.
Always looking for dogs and cats coupons. :thanks100:
