| Re: What pet do you have? 4 dogs: roxy (shepherd mix), einstein (border collie mix), mila (pitbull mix), ralph (chihuahua mix)
3 cats: buddha (short hair, gray), sumo (long hair, black, missing 1 eye, may go blind in the other if I can't get his surgery soon enough), diego (medium hair, black & white tabby, missing 1 eye)
2 rats: penny (dark gray) & bleu (light gray).
Needless to say - any savings that I can scrape up will help. Especially right now. Just got 2 of my kitties neutered. One that's missing an eye needs a surgery that will be anywhere from $1k-$2k. Not sure yet. My dogs just got in a fight costing me $600 to get one of their legs stitched up at the emergency vet about a week ago.
All 3 kitties are part of a litter of 4 that I rescued and found an animal rescue to take them once they were old enough. Sure enough - they're old enough and all of a sudden that rescue isn't answering my calls, etc. I only got a home for one of them (who wants cats who need future surgeries, etc?) and now have the other 3.
I'm a little overwhelmed, but (as much as my mother tells me to) I won't give them up, they're my babies. In the end, I'll be fine. |

| Re: What pet do you have? Everyone is a rescue or could no longer be cared for by the owner, or was a stray.....
3 Dogs - Chubbs (Boxer/Pit/mutt), Chloe(Lab/Mutt), Ivan(Pit, not sure if he's mixed)
5 Cats - Angel, Maggie, Baxter, Snow Puppy, T.C. and now 6 w/ Miss Sassy
Bunch of Rats and Hamsters
Fish
3 Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches - Fluffy, Fuzzie, and George
4 Ball Pythons - Koenig, Kasey, Rex, Trixie
1 Cali King Snake - Nagiana
1 Pigeon - The Man
1 Iguana - Smokey
It seems I'm forgetting someone.........
Then there's the wild critters that live in the yard that we make sure have hidey spots to live in and water....1 old box Turtle, 1 fat brown rat, a few midland brown snakes, a bunch of skinks.....
Animal lovers here!
Edit: Now we have added~
2 Bunnies
3 Gecko's
another kitty (Li'l Miss Sassy) b/c my son's gf had to get rid of her
2 Box turtles found on the road in front of our house, were put up on the hill with the other one, they were all sunning together 2 weeks later, so it worked ok. I just don't believe in indoor turtles when they live forever in the wild and we always put extra veggies up there for them.
And we lost one Bug. My little guy was trying to help and over filled their water dish. He only put an inch of water in, but it was too much. :-(

| Re: What pet do you have? Mack and Ruby - sibling Cane Corsos (Italian mastiffs) a little over 1 and 1/2 years old.
Mack is black and weighs 150 lbs, Ruby is brindle and weighs 115 (she was the runt of the litter). Both still have a bit of growing to do but should stop by the time they are 2.
Here they are at a year old -
They are goofy sweeties, and big babies!
Dave is a shelter rescued cat. And is the most dog-like cat I've ever met. He will eat anything - the smell of Arby's and bread drives him wild! He's a total lapcat and is always cracking us up.
Lola is our first pet - she's a picky, tiny, super soft diva, and doesn't like to snuggle or show affection during the day unless it's cold or she's out of food. But at night as soon as the light is off, she wants pets and snuggles and to sleep curled up on top of my head. Silly kitty. She doesn't sit still for photos so they are always blurry! |

| Re: What pet do you have? I have 2 ferrets, several fish, and, technically, a dog.
Ferrets:
My girl is named "Slinky" and is a big sweety who loves to play and wrestle.
My boy is named "Mudkip" (the name is an inside joke with some friends), and he's a mischievous little thing. He loves to wrestle and play with Slinky, and for some odd reason, likes to lick her ears(???). He also makes it well-known when he needs food or attention...by grabbing the bars of the cage and shaking them!
Fishies:
1 glofish (a pretty orange/red florescent fish)
2 Cherry Barbs (female, wanting a male)
2 Otocinclus (algae eaters, small ones)
And... a Betta! In a separate tank, of course.
Dog:
Since I technically can't have animals in my apartment (Ferrets are okay, my landlord says, as long as I don't tell anyone here!), I had to give my doggie to my mother. He's a black miniature schnauzer. He's super-sweet and super-cute, and he knows it. He knows how to use the puppy-eyes to get out of any trouble he is in.
I love my animals! My Ferrets are now just know as my "babies" |
