Help an Animal Shelter get $$ from Food Lion

Please don't blast me for this - I'm not sure if this constitutes something that should or shouldn't be posted here, and there really isn't time to wait...

I volunteer every weekend to drive a "leg" in a "transport." A transport is when a rescue organization decides to rescue an animal from a shelter/pound that it (usually) out of state. That trip is then divided into "legs" usually about an hour each - by doing this, we are able to get the animals from the shelter/pound up to the rescue organization quickly.

98% of the animals that we transport are from the Darlington Co Shelter. So essentially most of the dogs & cats that I have had in my truck and have driven to the rescues and/or next legs were FROM the Darlington Co Animal Shelter. This shelter has done SO much to help save as many pooches and kitties that they can.

This is a really painless process - assign your card # to the shelter and they get $$. EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS!!!

Hi Everyone! We are trying to help the Darlington County Humane Society receive more funding for the pets at the shelter. The shelter has just signed up to receive benefits from the Food Lion grocery store. If you have a Food Lion MVP Card, you can register it for free on the Internet and that's all you need to do! The shelter will start to receive money from Food Lion!!! We must have at least 25 people register their Food Lion MVP Cards in order for the Rescue Fund to receive $250 each quarter from Food Lion. If you'd like to register your card to help the Darlington County Humane Society, please follow these instructions: Go to Food Lion dot com On the left side of the screen, click on Lion Shop and Share Click on Register MVP Cards You'll need to enter: SC; Darlington, Darlington County Humane Society Rescue Fund Click Add MVP Cards Enter your card info, name, and telephone number Click Next Review your information and click Finish

Please pass this information along to any friends/colleagues so that the Rescue Fund can benefit from this program.

Wow, thanks for posting this! I rescued my pooch and two kitties from shelters so I am more than willing to contribute. And thank you for taking the time to transport animals in need. Are there more rescues paticipating than yours? I'll see if I can find one in my area, or I'll just contribute to yours.

I'm honestly not sure how the program works or who you can "support" or if you can support more than one. We don't have a Food Lion up here :(

They have TONS of organizations you can link your MVP card to. If pet rescue isn't your thing, there is undoubtedly something that is. I saw several Fire Departments on the list. I linked it to the humane society I got my poochie from. Thanks for posting this great link.
