QUESTION Are there every any deals on dog treats?

I've seen lots of really good deals in the CVS/Walgreens/Rite Aid section, as well as Target and Wal Mart. However, I never see any posts about really good deals on dog treats.

Am I best off just buying them at Wal mart based on the unit price and any Q's I may have? Or are there tricks to getting really good deals on dog treats?

You just have to keep an eye out for the best sales. Like this week in the paper, there were coupons for $1.50 off busy bones and they were on sale at meijer for 2.50 each. A good deal for something that is usually 3.09-3.29. Then when you bought one, it printed out a catalina for $1.00 of any bisy bone, so you could keep doing it again and again for $1.50 each. I've had a puppy for about 4 months and that is the best deal I have seen yet, there aren't many out there. I also wrote to some of my favorite companies and told them I liked their products and every one of them sent me samples and coupons, so that's one way to go. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Few months back there were coupons for FREE Carver's dog treats, they're usually like $4/bag so that was a good deal, although my dog prefers hard milk bones, so we just buy the boxes from WM for $2.50, it lasts a month for him.

A great treat for dogs is Cheerios. They are good for them and our 4 love them. They are always on sale. Only give them the original, not Honey Nut or Fruity or the other types. Just a thought. Also, we are about due for more free treat coupons. It's been awhile and we have gotten cat treats a few times lately. We doggie people are overdue.

I am so glad I read this. I have been wondering about this for my puppy, and I have about four or five of those qs.

Thanks for all of the replies, I forgot this post was moved to the "doggie" section. I guess I will have to keep a better eye out. I don't have a Meijer in my area, is that a grocery store? I have Wal mart, Wegmans, Price Chopper, places like that.

Thanks again!

I found double packs of Jerky Treats at Kroger last weekend marked at 1/2 price. They were usually 3.99 a single bag, the markdown was 1.99 for the double bag. T Bonz were 2.50 a bag, and I used the 1.50 coupons. I then used the 15% off total pet purchase that came by mail, and our girl is stocked up for some time.

Personally I don't like the taste of Chex Mix but my doggies do. I always use the .50 q that doubles at my grocery so a bag is free or .50 I think.

I haven't seen deals on them in my area except for the mega sale at Bakers recently. I found alot of dog treats on clearance at my Bakers. I got a Busybone for .39cents w/ my coupons.
