Anyone?
I just moved to the Wilmington DE area. My son and I are on a dairy free diet due to allergies. The stores I have been to do not have the selection that I am used to. Can anyone tell me what locations have larger organic and dairy free sections?? Any help at all would be really appreciated.
Anyone?
Hi! I currently live in Ohio but am from Wilmington/Newark.
It's been 2 years since I've done a lot of shopping in that area, but the stores I used to frequent for organic/special needs foods are:
Trader Joe's (off of Concord Pike - about 1 mi South of DE/PA line)
Janssen's Market in Greenville (NOT cheap but they used to have a good selection)
Newark Natural Foods - right off of Main St. in Newark - they used to order anything you were looking for if they didn't already carry it
Acme in Pike Creek (off of Rt. 7, next to Kmart - not the one in Lantana Square)
ShopRite in Downtown Wilmington
As far as I know, NONE of the Pathmark's in the area had a good selection of whole/natural/organic/specialty foods. Let me know if you need any other info about the area! Happy shopping!

Thanks so much!! I am still in shock over the regular prices at the grocery stores here. Thanks for the great list. My son and I are completely dairy-free and I guess I got used to a great selection where we used to live. I will have to make my way to these different stores and figure out which ones I like. Thanks again!!
No problem! Yes - the grocery prices are quite high in that area. I always found the best/most consistent deals at ShopRite but liked shopping at Acme for the selection.
You will probably have the most luck at Newark Natural Foods but their prices are in line with a specialty store.
