I found this on another site, one of the i heart ones for wags. I would imagine that if a cat doesn't print you can call right then & there to pinpoint the problem.

"catalina company: 888-322-3814. have your receipt in front of you, they need some key info from it, and they'll be able to see if the machine was working and if you bought the right products. it does tend to take a few minutes for the call, and then you have to wait to get the rr, which takes 6 - 8 weeks."

For those of you who don't have stores that ring up shelf price and then subtract the sale difference, if you call they *should* be able to give you a definite answer about shelf or sale price counting towards the cat. My mom told me that she has no idea about the stores outside of her district, that they could be running different software, but it's most likely that the catalina machine just wasn't printing for any of the previously listed reasons.

I did the Kimberly Clark Deal. Bought:

    2 Huggies Diapers - 8.99*2 = $17.98
    2 Kleenex - 2.00*2 = $4.00
    5 Huggies Wipes - 2.00*5 = $10.00

    Total = $31.98 (I used coupons so didn't really pay $31.98)

I did NOT get the $6.00 Catalina. Went straight to Customer service and got my $6.00 . Anyhow so It looks like the Kimberly deal is not spitting out the bucks..So far it looks like it hasn't really worked for anyone?

I am just planning my first trip to PM and I was going to buy fruit snacks. But I just looked at the on line circular and I don't see them in the GM box. Are they there and I missed them?

There was a sign in my store with a display for fruit snacks, I didn't buy any cause I got bout 20 boxes a few weeks ago. But I don't think they were part of the deal all the sign said was 2/$4

(I don't know that for certain, but from my business classes, I can tell you that there wouldn't be any sense in having a chain if you didn't do stuff like that centrally. It would just cost too much!)

But the deals don't always work - and sometimes people interpret a deal not working as meaning that it doesn't work on shelf prices at their store. What I have seen over and over again from reading posts on HCW is deals that don't work for three reasons:

    1. Item not programmed correctly
    2. Catalina machine not on/missing paper (needs to have a steady green light - a blinking light means it is out of paper)
    3. Store is off line (for example, if the store loses power and then gets it back, unless it reboots the Catalina system, it will be off line.)

So, when a deal doesn't work, we try to diagnose why and often compare items so we can figure out if there are non-working items.

Although I had to keep watching and telling the cashiers, cause they had handed me my receipt and moved on to the next person. Excuse me I think it printed me a coupon and they would just hand it to me....or sigh and roll eyes while handing it to me....

LOL, this is what tunnel vision gets you. I'm obsessed with this $8 cat using shelf prices I did the the cat for the granola bars b/c I gave it to my "super-duper-self-checkout cashier Renee (she always lets me do as many transactions as I want and is my personal cheerleader). I also got a cat on the transaction I did right after using sale prices. So the machine was on and working.

I know that the trashbags are changed either at night or first thing in the morning so if I see evidence of cats printed that day, then I use that register
Me too and everything was working properly. WAGS has taught me to be super diligent about these things.

Thanks for your help though everyone Since the receipts are different I really believe it is a software thing. I'm just going to head out the Aramingo Avenue store a little later in the week.

The $30 goal is for shelf price, so you didn't have to spend so much OOP. As for the deal printing the CAT when it's supposed to, I haven't tried it and it has been reported as not working by those who have so far.
