For PM deals, you used to have to use sale prices to get the amount. But with the new smart bucks (introduced after A&P bought PM), someone here figured out that they were using the A&P system of regular prices. But so far for this deal, no one has yet posted getting it at regular prices. This could be because they switched back, or it could be the usual problem of some flavors of items not being programmed into the deal. Or that the Catalina machine wasn't working (mine had a green light - so that wasn't my problem), or that the store was off line (could be......)

So, you see, we are not sure. I hope everyone who tries posts the details so we can figure out what the deal is.

OK, I just tested it out using sale prices. I miscalucated slightly and only bought 29.28 at sale prices, and it didn't print. But 4 of the Old El Paso I bought rang up at full price, not sale price, so I really did buy over $30 worth. CS gave me a gift card for $10 - so I am not too unhappy but it was disappointing. That's a net (after coupons) of under $10 for 12 HH, 3 Cereal, 10 Old El Paso.

But if the ONYO was going to print out at regular prices, it should have because I was way over $30 on regular prices, and it didn't. So it looks like this deal is only at sale prices.

Or is that too confusing? LMK if anyone needs more clarification.

I tried to do this deal as well and no cat printed for me. It was late and the customer service was closed so they told me to bring in my reciept next time and I will have to get the coupon in the mail. I am just giving up on Pathmark cause I know of 2 other people that tried that deal and didnt print as well.

hi newbie here, but I think I can answer the dilemma. A few weeks ago I went to A&P for their GM deal. The cat didn't print, when I went to customer service they told me that policy changed and would only print if the total was 30 dollars after coupons. I had used coupons and my total was 12 dollars even though before coupons it was 32. hope this helps

Thanks for your post. I don't want to be negative, but, it may be a little more complicated than that.

For example, I did the GM deal at A&P several times and it printed on regular prices (and I used coupons, too), so it appears that CS was wrong in that particular case. At HCW, people often post about asking at CS at A&P (and SuperFresh, owned by A&P) about deals that don't print and they almost always get told by CS that they didn't get enough because CS thinks that they print at sale prices. That is the easy answer for CS. But it appears (at least, in those past cases) that some of the items are not programmed in properly, so the deal doesn't get triggered. By comparing notes, we at HCW have been able to piece together which items are not programmed (for example, it may be as simple as a single flavor of yogurt) and by only buying items that are programmed correctly are able to successfully trigger the deal, on regular prices even using coupons. When I do this, I try to fly under the radar and don't go to CS, because they aren't going to help me since they don't know as many details about the deals as I have been able to pick up here at HCW.

But in this case it may truly be because the deal is programmed to trigger at sale prices. PM deals before A&P were at sale prices, but when (under A&P ownership) they introduced SmartBucks, the first deals were triggering at regular prices (I didn't do these deals but it was posted here ar HCW).

See Maria T's later posts in this thread.

In this case, PM staff may have stayed on after the acquisition, and been able to reinstitute the sale prices as the basis for the deals. And, for what it is worth, the PM CS told me last night that the coupons I used didn't matter. So, CS is not consistent and probably doesn't really know what headquarters has programmed.

According to what I see in my online Pathmark ad, the Cheerios @ 3/$4.88 is "limit one offer"? Am I seeing that right?

Does anybody know, do the checkout registers automatically not give the sale price for more than 3 boxes? I have some $1/2 coupons for Cheerios, so I was thinking of buying 6 boxes at a time, so I can use 3 of those coupons, but don't know if that will work. Anybody know?

For that matter, if I buy one offer of 3/$4.88 on my Pathmark Advantage card, can I (or anybody who has one of my extra cards with the same number) do the offer again?

If anybody would let me know, I'd appreciate it!

I can answer the second question- I have gotten two cereal offers with the same Advantage card, so yes, you should be able to do that.

As far as the first, I don't know, but my assumption would be that the limit is programmed in.

I am wondering if the GM deal differs from store to store. I got a $10 OYNO today, from three Cheerios, six Hamburger Helpers, and two Warm Delights Minis. $31.19 total at regular prices. After Qs and sale prices though, I paid $8.66 OOP. It had to be based on the regular prices, at least at my store.

I'll have to keep an eye out in the future and maybe try to do these kinds of deals earlier in the sale week, so I can let people know if I was able to get it. Might help out someone!
