Default Help! New to Pathmark

Hi everyone, we just moved and I now have a Pathmark near me (well about 15-20 minutes). What kind of grocery is this? I've never shopped there before. Is it worth the 15-20 minutes drive? I have a really nice ACME closer. Is the food (meat & produce) usually fresh? Do they usually have good sales?

I LOVE PathMark. They have great sales and the meat there is the best I've found, (I have King Kullen, Waldbaums *Both PathMark and Waldbaums are now owned by A&P*, Stop & Shop, Shoprite, and Best Yet). If it is a Super PathMark it is definitely worth the trip- they have the best selection out of all the ones I listed, even the "super" ones.

I also must add that I shop at the other places, but only for loss leaders where the price is better than I can get at PathMark, but that is a rarity.

Pathmarks vary a lot! I have one close to me that is very downscale and very different than one a little way in the other direction. So, you need to check out that particular store. Acme has some great sales too.

I agree that Pathmark is probably the most reasonable supermarket . . . I also have Waldbaums (again now related to Pathmark), and Shoprite. If I want to drive a bit and be in an area with doubles I also have access to Stop and Shop and and King Kullen.

Stores do vary widely. I know where I used to live I was right by an older store. It had stuff and was good but not as nice as the newer huge one they built a few miles down the road.

HI Maddy!!! How ya doing? Love that photo!

I find Shop Rite has the best prices, then Pathmark.
Acme is expensive.

Anybody find the Wholly Guacamole in Pmk? A&P also supposed to carry it.
SR doesn't. There is coupon for free container $4.99 in todays inserts.

That's good info, thanks! I was shopping mainly at Acme and Giant, but have recently found both a Pathmark and a Shoprite I can use. I went to the Pathmark for the first time yesterday and was impressed with the selection, so its good to know their prices are on the low side as a good Shoprite backup.

I can't find these stuff anywhere! I have 7 coupons I'd love to use but to no avail. I even went to the site and checked where it's sold, but when I tried the stores in my area listed on the site noone even heard of this product!

very frustrating

My feelings exactly! Those are the big three in my area. I jump in horror whenever I see the regularly priced items at Acme. Pathmark is a little better. They usually have be best prices on boneless chicken breasts. You should check out the store's online flyers each week before deciding to make the drive.
