SuperFresh ~ No Competitor MFG OYNO cats as of 1/31/10 :(

My Dh was at Superfresh today and used a competitors MFG catalini and was informed that as of the last day of January 1/31/10
Superfresh would not be accepting them anymore!!!
Which JIMHO;) is ludicrious because they still get the $$$ from the Manufacturer!
but again just in my lowly humble opinion...:)


This seems to be the case at A&P as there was a thread over there in that forum as well:( Same parent corporation for both stores.

My SF finally said ok to IP's
Then last week they told me"only 2 IP's"
ohh gimmee a break!
And now to say NO to compettitors coupons when just last month they opened up the field.
Buncha poorly qualified exec's I say!!!
It's just such a shame really
They've left us no avenu by which we can help them!

My guess is that they expected to honor things like:

King Kullen's $10 off $100 order
Stop and Shop Catalina that provided for $1 off the purchase of XX product issued by a manufacturer.
Stop & Shop/Giant triple coupon (use thees 4 coupons to triple the value of 4 mfgr coupons)
etc...

I am willing to guess that they are not getting reimbursed by the mfgr for the $5 off OYNO since they did not enter into the agreement with the MFGR to run that promotion. Just because it says MFGR does not mean the MFGR will reimburse them.

That being said, I hope they continue to accept IPs - if they dont, that would make them uncompetative.

This week at superfresh is actually not so bad, ground meat and chicken especially. But usually, unfortunatelly, it's not so good there except for the bonus bucks and markdowns.

The policy of accepting competitors q's is always interesting. If one store will accept that is good, if not, go back to the issuing store and use it there. My Acme and Superfresh won't take $$/$$$ CATS from competitors. But, Shoprite, Pathmark and Genuardi's will. It's all good. It just means that a shopping gal like myself has to keep up with who does what where.

It's also becoming irritating at who will and won't give reusuable bag credit. ACME, Genuardi's won't, while Shoprite, Pathmark and Superfresh still do...

I used a $2 OYNO from a competitor today (well, it was actually a $2 OYN Meat order....I needed ground beef and Superfresh had the better price) and they didn't tell me 1/31 was the last day! Which doesn't surprise me, my store isn't even consistent between cashiers as far as their coupon policy.

I received an email today from Waldbaums' Cust Service (and I would assume it is going to be the same across A&P, Superfresh) that as of 1/30, they will no longer take Competitor Coupons. However, they will continue to take IPs subject to their coupon policy.

My stores actually have the policy posted. If yours does not, I would send an e-mail to CS and ask them for a copy. They should be able to provide it to you if you are having an issue with a particular store.

They will also notify the DM and SM about the issue.
