SuperFresh ~ Does it matter
When you scan your bonus card, at the very beginning of the transaction (before any items are scanned), or at the end (so you can see a difference in what the card saves you)?

Well, if you want to take advantage of the triple coupons, you need to scan it before you scan your coupons, but I know the self-checkout asks you to scan your card after you have scanned your items. In fact, a lot of the cashiers at our store wait until they have finished scanning your items. A CS person today told me you can scan it at the beginning, also.
So that is a longwinded, NO, it doesn't matter.....

When the system was rolled out in the early 90s (I worked for them at that time), they wanted the card scanned last becuase there were issues with the discounts being applied properly to certain offers.
I assume over time the technology has gotten better (dont work for them anymore) and that they have overcome the initial problems.
I agree that you can scan at the beginning or end and it does not matter.

At the beginning or else the coupons do not triple.
This happened to me.

At my A&P you cannot scan your bonus card until the items are scanned. It will not read the card and will tell you to wait until all items are scanned. Not sure if it will double or triple the coupons if you don't scan the card before the coupons.

I always scan first to make sure things ring up on sale properly. Like today, Gorton's items are 50% off. 2 of the items rang up full price, but I was able to catch it as the cashier was ringing it. If I'd waited until the end to give my card, I wouldn't have noticed.
