    So, I finally got around to calling to speak to the store manager today. It was just as frustrating as my original experience (maybe he trained the original guy). He said that they do not give rain checks for the coupon value, they take the information and report it to Catalina or corporate to take care of (he said the other store should not have given me one). He also stated that he had not heard of any problems with the offer. I told him I had spoken to Catalina and the problem was that the items were not coded properly by corporate, and he said I would have to take it up with them. So I now get to call corporate, which I had been trying to avoid, hoping I could get this settled with the store and avoid giving him something to deal with when it got back to him. I don't think he believed me that the coupon printed based on the scanned price, but it didn't really matter since he wasn't going to do anything even if I had spent $20 at after card prices. I will have to remember not to do Catalina deals at this store (Mahopac, NY). At least at the other A&P stores in my area, they do something to get you the money you're due if the coupon does not print.

    I had a problem with my catalina machine not printing anything. I told the guy working the SC and he just walked over to another register and rang everything up again, got my qs, and didn't make me go to CS. It totally rocked. I love the South Plainfield store!

    I finally called A&P corporate today and got no satisfaction. I didn't even bother to complain about the AH manager, I just wanted my $7. The "customer service" (and I used the term loosely) person told me that a) the store has to call in the receipt to them, not the customer, he would not even take it from me, b) being pictured in the ad does not indicate that it is a qualifying item (fine print in ad), it has to have a shelf tag (which is a joke since, in many cases they don't have those up, like in the case of the toothpaste I bought which was on an endcap), c) the amount you spend had to be after the card (which of course we all know is not true) and d) the store is not supposed to do anything on their own to pay you, they need to call corporate. So I was basically told that there was nothing they were interested in doing for me (which was the same message I had gotten from the manager). I am going to have to avoid doing these deals at the store that store, and/or not put my coupons in the slot until I see whether the Catalina prints so I can tell them to void the order and get my coupons back. Fortunately, there are other A&P stores in my area who understand how unreliable these offers are and do what is necessary to resolve the issue and let the customer leave happy, even if that is not A&P corporate policy. I am at a dead end and not happy.

    Ya know I have been following this and finally need to comment. If you did not get a catalina you should call catalina and give them the reciept information. They will investigate and if you did earn the cat. they mail it to you. It happened to me at Shoprite. My 4ONYO did not print, CS would not help me since it was not from the current ad, so I called Catalina and a week later I had a coupon for 4ONYO in my mail... Less aggravation to call catalina then the store corporate... Especially if it is a Cat and not an on your reciept coupon!

    I did call Catalina over a week ago and reported it here. They told me that the 6 ounce containers (for the CustomCare varieties, which I only bought because the store was poorly stocked on the regular stuff) were not showing up as qualifying items in their system and that was why I did not get the coupon. They would not do anythng for me because according to their system I didn't buy the correct items, even though they were listed in the ad. It is A&P that loads the qualifying UPC's and they screwed up, as they seem to do rather often with these OYNO deals. So Catalina won't do anything. A&P corporate says they won't do anything for me directly and adds that if the item doesn't have a shelf tag it is not qualifying, even if it is pictured in the ad. The store won't even consider it a problem because I didn't spend $20 after card even though that was not the problem. None of them apparently feel that $7 is a small price to pay to have a happy customer (who clearly would not be going to all this trouble if I didn't really believe there was a problem).
