A&P/SuperFresh ~ Vent: SuperFresh ~ self-scans LOUD through the whole store.

At both the Glen Burnie and Odenton stores the self scans are so loud that they can be heard throughout the whole store. It's very annoying! The shelf prices take a awhile to figure out, $2/3, $3/2, $5/4, $4/5, $3/5. $5/3 and so on, nothing is just flat out cents off one. (I know, this is at ALL grocery stores) So I'm trying to figure out how much one item will cost and all I can hear is ONE.99, TWO.49, SIX.89. And thats just the order ringing up. Next come the coupons. ONE DOLLAR, ONE DOLLAR, 75 CENTS, 50 CENTS. This is from FOUR different registers, all at once. It's driving me batty!! So I left and went to Giant.

LOL yes Odenton's is SUPER loud! It used to bug me but I am used to it now...my mom will laugh at me because I will have my receipt and leaving and the voice is still talking running thru every single coupon and double! I shop at night - I think they have a lane open now - but in the past you had to do self checkout whether you had 5 items or 50 so that was a LOT of coupons for that poor machine to run thru, plus I dont like it announcing my total loudly!

There are volume buttons on the U-scan next to the viewing glass. I was in A&P yesterday and the checkout person came over and adjusted th volume. No key or special card was needed, so just lower them one by one.

I'll look for those volume buttons. was at silver spring store and noticed u-scan was superloud.

Volume stay the same at Glen Burnie Store. There was a young lady bagging and I made the remark that the machine voice was extremely loud. She tried but could not adjust it down.

I know what your saying that Glen Burnie one drives me nuts. I think they do it for 2 reasons. 1) so the cashier can hear that everything is being scanned, and if thats true, it's a dumb reason, becuase with all of them going at one time you can't follow it; and 2, to try to embaress you, so you won't use so many coupons, lol. It's not going to stop me!
