TIPS Bed, Bath & Beyond ~ tips from a former employee!

    Hi Ladies and Gents!
I worked at BBB three years ago and thought i'd give you all some tips/information about BBB to help you save money. Some of this has been posted already, some has not.

The following was true for the store I worked at in MI, I would imagine it's the same everywhere, but YMMV.

    1. They take expired coupons so DON'T THROW THEM AWAY!!! I hoard them (now that I don't get the discount).

    2. Do the math on the coupons... sometimes the $5/15 work out better than the 20% off ones.

    3. At my store you could use up to 10 coupons/transaction. And if you wanted to use more than that, it just needed a managers approval. It may vary by store though, so ask first.

    4. SAVE YOUR BBB RECEIPTS!!!! If you are unsatisfied with the product, you can return it any time... even if you've used it!! Just make sure to tell them that you used it (they should ask anyway) so that they don't put it back on the shelf. If you have your receipt, and used a coupon on the item you're returning, they'll re-issue you a coupon. You have to ask for it though, they generally don't offer it.

    5. You can use their coupons on clearance items.

    6. They take competitor coupons (including LNT).

    7. They price match other stores. They won't price match warehouse stores like Costco or Sam's, but they will price match JCPenney, Sears, etc. Then you can use your coupon on it too!!!

    8. If you know anyone who's getting married, refer them to BBB. If they put you on the form as their referral, you'll receive a coupon for $25/50 (1/2 off!!!). You can refer people as many times as you'd like, there's no limit to how many of these coupons you can get.

    9. February is the best time to get deals because they are getting ready for inventory and put a bunch of stuff on clearance. You'll see a huge clearance sign in the front of the store. You can use your coupons too!!

    10. If you go into the store to purchase something for the bride and groom off their registry, but it's not in the store and you need to order it online, ask the employee if they'll waive the shipping charge. They might have to ask the manager, but 9 times out of 10 they'll do it!!! Do this in the store, not at home, because you can't use your coupons online, but you CAN if you order it online in the store. They can also ship it directly to the bride and grooms home if you don't want to lug it around LOL! They have to put a preferred ship to address in their form (if they don't want it shipped to their current house) or it can be shipped to you.

    11. Gift wrapping on bridal registry items is free. It's either a silver box or a silver gift bag with white tulling. No, they won't gift wrap your Christmas or birthday gifts (I can't tell you how many people asked me to do that LOL!).

    12. If you purchase an item that has a rebate, ask the cashier for a rebate receipt. It's a special receipt that you send in to the company for the rebate. That way you don't have to send them your original reciept (in case you have to return something later).

    13. This isn't so much a cost savings, but good to know. If your BBB is out of something, they can check other stores to see if they have it. If one does, and you don't feel like driving out to THAT store to pick it up, ask if they'll transfer it to your store. I must have done that 100x's/day for customers. You just pick it up at the customer service desk when it's in (they'll call you). They won't ship it to your house though, w/o a shipping fee (you can always ask, but I doubt it unless it's off a bridal registry).

    Bridal Registry info...

If you or someone you know is getting married, and they register at BBB, they can return anything on their registry for CASH!!! No questions asked. Exchanges, if desired, are super easy too! No hassles.

Anyway, I can't tell you enough good things about BBB LOL! So if you have any questions, i'll do my best to answer them.

    HTH!!

Our BBB lets you use up to 4 coupons in a single transaction - I do this a lot - I never thought of asking to use more. 10 would be great!

You can only use one coupon per item and some stores only allow a certain number of coupons per transaction.

Thumbs Up re: Bed, Bath & Beyond ~ tips from a former employee!

I love BBB but the closest one to where I live is 45 minutes away, and with gas prices I don't get to go as often as I would like to. Do you know how they decide to put one of their stores somewhere?? Is it population based, or competitor based????Thanks for all the great info. repped ya!
