I agree that it depends on what you're shopping for. I make Boutique-style children's clothing and used to always buy my fabric at JoAnn. I went into Hobby Lobby one day looking for something and WOW, they have a fantastic fabric selection for my purpose. Lots of very modern prints (much more so than I had ever seen at JoAnn) and the quality seems to be better than what I had been buying at JoAnn. And the prices are a little better too. Hobby Lobby is my primary source for fabric now. However, I will say that I like JoAnn's selection of notions and accessories much better and the 99 cent pattern sales (although sometimes I just pm those at Walmart)
