Other National Chain Store ~ Question: JoAnn Fabrics ~ Does JoAnn takes competitors coupons?

Am I the only person who didn't know that JoAnn fabric and craft stores take competitor's coupons? Did I never read the giant sign over the customer service desk before?

Nope, you weren't the only one that didn't know that.

That's exciting, since the Michael's flyer almost always has a 40% or 50% off coupon.

Did you also know that unless the competitor sells fabric you can't use the coupons for cuts of fabric at Jo Ann's?

My Joann's doesn't accept Michael's coupons anymore. My Michael's no longer accepts Joann's coupons, either. May be a store-by-store thing?

I tried to get clarification from them in email. I asked if it was nationwide and who the competitors were. All they sent me was, "In reply to your question, we do honor competitor's coupon." Terribly useful.

I think it's not only a store-by-store thing, but a cashier-by-cashier thing in some cases. One cashier at my local Joann said they take Michael's coupons, and another said they don't. This particular Joann is very uneven in the quality of their employees -- some are polite and helpful while others act as if you are interfering with their socializing by trying to spend money there.

In California I've found that all the Super Joann stores have great big signs up front saying they take competitor's coupons. I've never had any problem at those. At the regular, smaller Joann stores, it seems to depend on who's working.

Wow I did not know this. I have a JoAnns just up the street and Michaels is far away. I always have Michaels qs but do not want to drive there.
