My grandma has a couch from BL and although it "looks" nice, you can feel the wood under the cusions as soon as you sit down.

Dh and I bought a lazyboy about 3 years ago and it is horrible. The springs broke, the folds in the fabric are threadbare, the recline part is shoddy. It was a horrible deal!

I have a living room set that the springs have broken in the sofa and love seat. Broke after after about 3 years of constant sitting on it - and nephews jumping on it. Still have it because it matches my walls so well. LOL
My sister bought her teenager a bedroom suite 4 years ago and it has been moved 4 times and still going strong. Very heavy.
Sis says some at work had probs with couches too.
Imho - if you only need a cheap sofa for a few years - go for it. Wood furniture - it seems to last better than the sofas.

Never bought any furniture from there, other than a cheapy computer desk when I was in college....But, I was pleased w/ it. We have bought a full size mattress there last year for our bed & was going to buy DS a twin mattress there last week when they were on sale (but just never made it a priority). Obviously, having considered buying another mattress from there, we're pleased w/ the first one we bought.

The only furniture I purchased from BL are two (different styles) "bed benches" for at the foot of the bed. One is made by Ashley furniture and opens up...very handy for storing sheets. Both are 3 years old and still look brand new. They have held up great.

I did! Hubby and I bought the Chickasaw tan couch and chair and a half, Labor Day deal so both pieces were about $525, I love em, haven't had them that long though but they seem to be good quality, hubby says they're good quality too. HTH

When our Big Lots first opened my sister purchased a couch, loveseat, end tables and coffee table and they still look new 2 years later...mind you, she has a 23 and 28 year old living with her, plus another adult and 3 dogs and everything held up perfect.

I also purchased the sleigh bed, dresser and highboy from Big Lots and I did have one broken drawer but I can not say 100 % that it was not done when we were moving it into the bedroom. It looks beautiful and has really hepd up. On Black Friday they had Micro Suede recliners on sale for $239 and I bought 2 of them and they are SSSSOOOOO comfortable!!!I love them and so does my DH and 5 dogs!

My Mom and Dad purchased a chair from the Amish in PA and paid a pretty penny for it and it fell apart less then a year later and the store would not honor any warranty and basiclly said they were SOL!

I have had the more expensive, high priced $2500 cough and chair and it did not last any longer then any other furniture I have had. When DH and I first moved in together, we purchased a couch, love seat and chair from our local Indoor Farmer's Market for $750 and that was the BEST furniture I've ever had. We were young and "flopped" down on it, beat it up, slept on it, moved it 15 times and that furniture was still the best.

I have always said "You get what you pay for" by I DO NOT beleive this when it comes to furniture. Big Lots furniture probably isn't any different then the big name brands. I highly recommend it!

I was so excited - I went there yesterday and saw two kitchen stools for $20/chair! Had her get them down from the shelf - and the legs were all different lengths! So close....
