QUESTION Wegmans opening a store in Northboro, MA-What Should I Know About Wegmans?

The store is going to be a little far for me to shop on a regular basis but curious to see if they open any other stores. This is their first New England store.

So do they have good sales? Do I need a card?
I looked at the weekly sales flyer posted on their website for one area and it looked like a lot of store brand items that were featured?

    Thanks in advance!

It does have a lot of Wegman brands. I find it can be a bit pricey so I mostly buy their sale items and produce (because its soooooooooooo fresh) When meat is on sale I stock up because I love their meat also.
I live in Central NY with tons of summer people who vacation on the lake during the summer. They love Wegmans. It is a treat. They have wonderful fresh pre made food in the deli.

Yes, you need a shoppers card there, and the produce and meat are amazing. I found it to be a tad expensive, no worse really though than the kinds of stores I need to drive to around home to get decent produce and meat though. I think you will enjoy Wegmans. Oh and they have pretty reusable shopping bags too. :)

I shop at Wegmans on a regular basis. Their store brand items are awesome - almost always as good, if not better, than the brand name. I buy almost exclusively store brand items and save significant money over other nearby grocery stores. They double coupons, have good sales, and have a very useful website (you can select your specific location and look up the price for any item in the store). They also have the freshest produce and often feature local farmers when things are season.

This is by far my favorite grocery store and one of the few things I'm going to miss about New Jersey when I move away in 2 years.

I'm pretty excited about this! For all you MA people, the store is going to be going in where Rt 9 meets Rt 20, just off the west-bound side of Rt 9 in Northborough. It's slated to open early this fall. I work at the Michaels in Shrewsbury and we're actually going to be moving over there and opening about the same time as Wegman's.

Oh fun! I don't like the Michaels in Shrewsbury much because it's so crowded. But hopefully this will be a nice big space for you all!!!

Yup it is wicked small. Smallest and oldest store in New England actually. The new store is supposed to be around the size of the store in Natick, maybe a lil bit bigger. I'm pretty excited! And yes it's going to be near the Christmas Tree Shop.

Also, we have a new manager at the Shrewsbury Michaels who so far seems to be pretty hardcore at reducing clutter and increasing open space for people to move in wherever possible. Although that is tough with the lack of space and horrible layout there currently is.

I live in an area with two Wegmans. If you're looking for anything upscale or gourmet, you'll find it there. Most of their shelves are stocked with Wegmans brand products. Because of that, I guess, they don't carry all of the national brands available.
Store brand products are reasonably priced and are generally pretty good.

I find Wegmans a challenging store to use coupons because they don't advertise sale items. In any given 12-page ad, 11 and a half pages are for ready-to-eat/produce/meat and Wegmans brand. The remaining half page shows just a handful of national brand products. National brand products do go on sale, but you pretty much have to see the shelf tag to know about it.
Please PM me for trades; the database messes with my mind.
