SMILE Giant Food ~ Company that seems to Care

Didn't know where to post this but had to mention it. I live in NoVa and shop at Giant Food. I went last night and had my stack of coupons. When I gave them to the cashier she politly stated that they do no accept internet coupons anymore. I asked a few questions and decided to forget it. All I had was 1 internet coupon so I wasn't all that upset.

I decided to go onto their website which stated that they accepted those coupons. I called the corporate office and they apologized for the mistake. They took my information and had the local store call me. The manager of that store called within an hour and stated that they would leave a $10 gift card at the customer service desk. At first I refused as my coupon was only for $1.20 but they insisted.

Now that is a company that knows how to right a wrong.

A little long winded but thanks for listening.

It's great to receive awesome customer service like that! It's usually few and far between though...

Wow! Impressive. I hope they went over it with the cashiers too so they are up to date.

And you are a customer who knows how to pay that company back by spreading postive infomration about it!

I had a similar situation at Hen House Markets in Kansas City. The local store did not accept coupons on clearance items, which I knew was against corproate policy. I contacted the home office and they sent me a $10 gift card to apologize. I've made Hen House my go-to supermarket ever since.
