Hours of operation

What is Prescription Plus?

You will be able to save up to 50% on your prescriptions at participating pharmacies . Additionally, we have over 300 generic prescription drugs for which you can receive up to a 30-day supply at commonly prescribed dosages for only $4 at participating pharmacies!
Is this an insurance program?
This is not a prescription insurance program, but a discount program for you. With this program there are no claim forms, referrals, or paperwork to complete after you enroll.
What prescriptions are covered?
- Federal Legend Drugs: Any medicine which bears the legend – “Caution: Federal law prohibits the dispensing without a prescription.”
- Insulin and Syringes (When ordered by a physician.)

What is the cost to enroll?
The initial enrollment fee has been WAIVED for the calendar 2009 year. After the initial enrollment period ends, the fee is $5 per year.
How can I enroll?
Individuals can enroll at any participating FRED'S pharmacy.
How long should it take for me to receive my Prescription Plus Discount Card after I enroll?
You should receive your Prescription Plus card within 5 – 10 business days after you enroll.

How do I get my discount at the participating pharmacy?
When you visit a participating pharmacy, present your Prescription Plus Discount Card to the pharmacist, with your new or refill prescription. Your card contains important information to help the pharmacist process your order. The participating pharmacy will fill your prescription according to what your physician has prescribed and save you money in the process.

All individuals that have Medicare and Medicaid, “dual eligible”, will be automatically enrolled in a prescription drug plan. These individuals will have the ability to change their Medicare prescription drug plan.
Do you have to enroll in the Medicare Part D program by December 31, 2007?
No. Enrollment in Medicare Part D is voluntary. However once the enrollment period has passed; you will not be able to enroll until the next enrollment period, and you will incur a lifetime monthly penalty for late enrollment. If you have already enrolled and do not want to change plans, you do not have to do anything to continue coverage with your current plan.
What is the cost to participate in the Medicare Part D program?
There will be a number of Medicare Part D prescription drug plans that will be available to you. The premiums could vary by each prescription drug plan, however Medicare estimates that the average monthly premium will be approximately $24 per month.
What prescriptions are covered?
Each prescription drug plan will have a formulary. The formulary may vary from prescription drug plan to prescription drug plan. You should compare the formularies with the prescriptions you are currently taking when choosing a prescription drug plan.
What pharmacies serve Medicare Part D patients?
Each prescription drug plan has contracted with pharmacies to serve you. The contracted pharmacies may vary from prescription drug plan to prescription drug plan. You should make sure that your local pharmacy participates within the prescription drug plan you enroll.
