DD3 Killer Pull Ups Deal - YMMV

Total YMMV (Your Mileage May Varry) deal:

I saw cool alert Pull Ups at a Waldbaums on Staten Island (only two - this is the one on Amboy Rd.). They were pilled up with a large section of red tagged items where you get half off the retail price and the cashier removes the ticket. Notation said full price is $9.99.

I bought 10 packages. Planned on the total being $99.99/2 = $49.99 - )10) $2/1 Huggies Pull Ups (expires tomorrow 7/18 - I believe new ones are coming out on Sunday) to bring the total down to $29.99 or $2.99 each.

They rang up $11.29 with the BC next to it indicating it was on sale once they scanned my card.

    10 packages @ $11.29 = $112.90

Cashier scanned my card and $23 came off instead of the $13 to make them $9.99 each. Total is now $89.90.

Cashier took $5 off for each package (10 packages). New total = $39.90

    Used (10) $2/1 coupons as noted above = $19.90 or $1.90/package

Plus Huggies Pull Ups are listed at Caregivers Marketplace and I can get back $.75 back on each one for a grand total of $12.40 or $1.24 each.

Me: I need penny and nickel stamps. USPS Employee: We don't have nickel stamps.
Me: OK well what do you have after a penny?
    USPS Employee: 2¢, 3¢, 4¢ and 5¢
Me: Fine. I will take the 5¢ ones.

That's a great deal Maddy but I'm trying to work out how I'm getting a higher oop with just one.

    $9.99 - $5 = $4.99
    - $2.00 coupon

    = 2.99

I saw these at my store last week, just one pack, but didn't have my coupons.

btw, the rubbermaid small bottles are clearanced too and there's a $1/1 coupon which makes them between 30c - 40c each.

Hey Scoop. Thanks for the answer to my PM the other day. Please forgive me for not responding.

Your math is correct based on what the actual deal should be . . . But what was strange was when the items were scanned they showed as $11.29 -- not the $9.99. They did have the BC indication on the screen that they were on sale with the card. Swiping the card at the end of the order should have taken off $1.30/pack (or in my case a total of $13 for 10 packs). The system took $23 off the order when the card was swiped $2.30 off each one making them $8.99 each. Then when the cashier took the 50% off coupon on the package it took $5 off each one because that was half of the $9.99 that was written as the regular retail price of the item on the red managers special sticker. I am not sure if it automatically did that or if the cashier put it in but I did not see him do the math when he scanned the one for the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers I found in the damage bin (box was banged up -- items fine). Whatever happened it brought the price down from $8.99 to $3.99. My $2/1 coupon then brought the price down to $1.99 each and then with the Caregivers Marketplace credit of $.75 for each package the price becomes $1.24 each.

    Does that make more sense?
