QUESTION Sam's Club ~ Markdown Schedule

Does anyone know what days Sam's marks their items down or what there markdown schedule is, if they have one.

Thanks.

I am not sure of any "schedule" of when they do this.
However, I am able to get marked down meats pretty regularly on Mondays and Tuesdays. I normally go out on Monday mornings and have found some really good deals. On Mondays and Tuesdays following holiday weekends I have gotten meats for excellent prices. Last summer I went after Memorial Day (on the tuesday) and I got enough meat for the rest of the summer including steaks and chicken.

I get the best deals on ground meat and steaks this way. I dont see the chicken marked down - plus I think it moves pretty well there. I am able to get ground meat marked down almost every trip. After Labor day last year I got pork tenderloins for a song and cut them up and stocked the freezer.

Hope that helps. I would also ask the butchers when you see them there if you are interested in meats. I asked and they told me a few days after the holiday or after the weekend they mark down to make room for the new stuff coming.

I don't know if there is a schedule...but my mil taught me that any prices ending in "1" are at their lowest price. She's gotten some HOT deals by just walking around and looking for "1" at the end!

I went early on Saturday and they had a lot of ground beef marked down. I was unlucky and didn't get to it quick enough. One lady had a whole cart full of it. There was even a line. From now on, if I see a line near the meat, I am getting in it.

My boyfriend works in the meat dept at a Sam's Club here in MI and there seems to be no universal markdown for products at least as far as the meat dept is concerned. From our experience it is marked down by the dept manager when they have a surplus of the product. One thing we can watch for however is for things during the holidays, for example they order too many turkeys for Thanksgiving, wait a couple of days after and they may be on markdown, everything has an expiration date... of course we have seen the team coaches just eat the loss and never markdown products regardless of the sell by date and they just toss them.

I think this year so far we have gotten baby back ribs for 1.99 lb, hamburger meat (the large tubes) .99 a lb. There are good deals to be had but not very common at least not as far as the meat dept is concerned.

If you are in SE MI, I'd be happy to give anyone a heads up. Just PM me.

I guess my advice is to get a buddy behind the counter. lol or count on going there pretty frequently.
