One of my Favorite Holidays!!!
I am hosting Halloween in our NEW SUBDIVISION. We just moved into a new home this month. I love finding the best deals and I was hoping you guys can fill me in on ways to save on candy (doesn't have to be store specific). I was told that I need to prepare for 75+ little ones and we are working our DEBT SNOWBALL so I have only a bit stashed away for this. I hope you all can also give me some neat inexpensive decoration ideas or recipes. Thanks in advance for your help.
try going to the dollar tree or your local dollar store if you have one, and stocking up on halloween toys to give out to the lil ones.you dont need to hand out just candy it can be an assortment of lilttle trinkets and toys. as for deco ideas go to the dollar store thaere are tons of items there!
Good idea...thanks. I think I'll go to Sams for bags of chips. A little something different.
If you get the subscription to All You, they had a few great deco ideas in there the last issue... Bats made of that craft foamie stuff (super easy) and I am doing this: they covered the front door with paper (think dollar store poster boards,) to look like a big scary mouth.
Those spider rings are always everywhere and they're great for the kiddo's goodie bags and I always hang bunches of them everywhere too.
As for candy, I know that last year I was able to get all I needed for nearly free at CVS with their ECBs and coupons. I'm sure other drugstores have similar deals.
You can do this too. Creepy punch bowl: Fill a plastic glove with water and freeze (wash it out first) and use that as the ice in your punch. I've seen that millions of times but I still think it's really cool. (maybe I'm just cheesy) LOL
I love Halloween!
o thats a good idea! i saw the glove ice thing on a martha stewart halloween special and it looked awesome! had forgotten all about it. thanks for posting this!
I found a ton of stuff at the Dollar Tree. They usually never have anything when I go, but I think I wait till the last minute. This time...I found a huge mummy, witch, and frankie poster art. A few inflateable pumpkins and this weird black spider mesh door cover that I will place over an orange table cloth. Thanks guys!
We're having our first Halloween party this year (for adults) and I need ideas for games. We're having a costume contest & city wide scavenger hunt. I got trophies for the scavenger hunt and ribbons for the costumes but I don't know what else to give out for prizes... any ideas for games as well... ?????
We will have over 1000 trick or treaters on Halloween.. any ideas of where I can get verry cheap candy? Any good sales going on?
