Waldbaum's Nightmare Last Attempt At Triples and a Thank You

First with the thank you . . . LivsMum was kind enough to send me 5 of the Powerade coupons. I truly appreciate it and they arrived today which was perfect. I had two work appointments schedule right near where I live with a break in-between and they were there when I went home for lunch. Alas my afternoon appointment canceled after I got there but that gave me time for the run around I got.

So I went to a store in Brooklyn I think I have been to twice. It is a much larger store than the one by me so I was hoping to find the Disney eggs. Lo and behold they had them. No sign up near the Powerade so I pretended to be ignorant. Bought four of them in the first trip. I was shocked at the prices in the store . . . MUCH higher than the one by me in Brooklyn or the Staten Island store. For instance the boxes of Carolina rice were $1.99 instead of $1.39. Cashier gave me a hard time from the start. I could tell she was in a mood but she was the best looking one of the lot. I had a $.50/1 A&P catalina off your next order and they got into a huge debate if I could use it or not. Front end manager said if it scans take it and it did. Fine. I realized another deal and wanted to use the rest of the Powerade coupons.

The deal I figured out was to buy 1 of the Oscar Meyer Deli Fresh for full price at $4.29. I had a $1/1 coupon from the Kraft booklet and 3 of the Powerade coupons. Total came to $.15. This after she tried to tell me I could not use the Kraft coupon because it said A&P. Well this one actually says A&P, Waldbaums and Super Fresh. I was dumb and tried to use a gift card. If I just handed this cashier the money I could have probably just went on with my day in the pouring rain but she realized that the Powerade were on sale and wanted to do the math. I saw that she was already moving slowly and I wanted out so I asked her to please void the order and give me back my coupons. She said she would give them back but that she had to void off each item individually and needed me to stay so she could take off the coupons. She kept loosing count of the Powerade bottles. The order went into the negative. Front end manager comes up and asks her why she did not just void the whole order . . . Cashier says she was told not to do that and manager tells her that she had told her to do it and she runs the front end. Get my stuff and go.

I go to the store by where I live. No Powerade at all.

I am determined by now and head to Staten Island. My job pays for my tolls (I used to spend time itemizing them and was corrected so I don't feel badly. I don't go back and forth and back and forth and I don't do stuff like this very often either . . . ). They had everything and I was able to use some of the extras LivsMum sent like the rice coupons. I also had 4 of the free rolls of Marcal toilet paper and the other stores did not carry the singles. Because of the TP my order went up to $.22 and I had no problems.

So now I got to use the golden coupons a kind person sent me and I will use the register tape to send away for the free Rachel Ray bag. My friend and I also went to A&P in Bayone and used Kraft coupons for cheese and hot dogs I am going to share with a mom whose children go to the same school as my son. She is lovely and just lost her job today.

It was fun but I am glad it is over. I am tired.

I have just seen this, I'm sorry for the hassles you were given. I really don't know why they give people such a hard time but am happy that you were at least able to use some of what I sent. :):)
