Dominicks - rumor about expireds at Gurnee store

maybe ask around at your stores and see if this is true. I still have alot of good expireds to use up if they are

I'm not surprised. And I saw this coming. (which lets you know I believe it)

Once one store makes that decision, it's easier for other stores to follow suit.

I have heard rumors about Dominick's limiting or no longer taking expired coupons before and it didn't happen. It's really stupid of them to do it so soon after Jewel's. They now have a chance to gain market share if they played their cards right.

Bumping this one up because this looks to be true.

I went to Dominicks in Oak Lawn this weekend and the manager told me no more expireds there because they aren't getting reimbursed by the manufacturers. To his credit, he said they were being jerks.

I'm going to see if the one down the street from my job is talking the same crap.

Has anyone gotten the same story?

Gurnee will now take them for up to one year. They won't take competitors catalinas anymore

I would have been happy if they said six months expired, but they're going cold turkey. So I won't be shopping at Oak Lawn.

I was able to use expireds at the one near my job, so I'll shop there.

I can still use them at Food 4 Less. So that leaves there, specific Dominicks and Ultra for me too. So I'll keep my expireds for awhile.

Try talking to the District manager. I had problems with a couple of store's saying it was a Safeway wide policy on IP's & Winetags. The problem was solved after talking to the DM. I also talked to the DM for the area covering Homer Glen & Shorewood. He was very nice so if he handles Oak Lawn also you may be able to get the problem resolved.

Have never looked for Food 4 Less, but I doubt it. Never seen it. I haven't had issue at Dominick's yet, but I only use self-check, so I'm still good there. Many times I avoid the one I can walk to from home as they are old and don't have self. But I love Ultra!!

My mother in law works for dominicks and she said she has not heard ANYTHING about this happening! She works in Fox Lake (northwest suburb of Chicago) so maybe its just your store? Or our store just isn't paying attention lol
