Default re: Costco ~ What do you buy...

I used to go to Sam's Club, but when I moved to my current place, alas....there are none here, so Costco it is! BF is a meat eater (I am not) so we get his meat there. Their pork chops are huge, so he cuts them in half and winds up with enough pork chops to last him about 3-4 months. Can't beat that (I think). And we do that for the beef as well. Last forever. Other things:

Soy milk
Eggs
Hamburger rolls and hot dog rolls (when we are having a bbq) are always a great price
Fresh fruit

oh, I know there are more things...but my coffee hasn't kicked in yet....so brain is a bit slow!! LOL

I also just bought a new digital SLR camera there. It wasn't cheap, but it was the best price for everything we got. For the same price of the body plus one lense we got the body, that lense, a longer zoom lense (which would have been another $250), a really nice camera bag and a 2gb memory card. The first one I bought had a broken flash, so I took it back and they exchanged it without any problems.

I mostly buy things that are organic and I am not going to find on sale any where else:

Kirkland Organic Salsa (I think it is just like the stuff at Chilis)
Kirkland organic natural peanut butter
Kirkland organic tortilla chips
Maranatha Almond Butter
Various organic frozen veggies
Big bags of peanuts in shells

I also buy
Craisins
chocolate chips
milk
romaine lettuce
and the brand name even cut frozen chicken breasts (I don't mind spending $3-5 more for quality chicken)
pork loin roast
apple sauce
and occasionally other produce if the price is right or it looks really good
Sometimes I buy snacks like granola bars, nuts, etc for the kids

Garbage bags (200 in a box....has lasted us a year and a half)
Gillette razors if there's a good coupon (52 in a pack....has lasted us nearly 2 years)
Ziploc sandwich bags if there's a good coupon (500 in a box...lasted us nearly 2 years also)
Orville Redenbacher microwave popcorn (32 in a box...lasts us months)
Toothpaste, with coupon (lasts us months)

Sometimes we'll get meat, and certain cleaning products.

There's only 2 of us in this household, so all our stuff from there lasts us forever. We end up saving lots of cash over a year or two because we only need to buy these at least once over that time period....until a good coupon comes out.

I work inside Costco doing the demos... so am inside Costco lots of hours.

1, Look for the * <----star on the top right hand white price sheet. that is an item that will soon be deleted. Often these items have crazy small prices. $3.97.. 6.97.

TIP: if it is not crazy busy ask the demo folk of they know of any good deals in the warehouse. Often we do.

2. You don't need to be a member to eat at the food court. Get RX at the pharmacy or the optical dept. but I think you will need to pay in cash. Check it out at your local store to be sure.

3. Kirkland store brand items are great. If you ever find things your don't like you can return them no problems.

4. If there ever is a recall costco is very aware and ontop of it. I was contacted about a peanut butter item once. I had not heard of it yet so appreciated the contact.

5.Gas! great deal. seems to not mess up the car as I almost only get my gas here.

6. Costco cakes. HUGE yummy great price.

7 right now in MN we have kirkland bottled water for 2.99 for 35 bottles! wow!!

8. the demo folk hear it so many times a day .. this is my lunch. thanks for lunch.. I wont need lunch ha ha. It is just not funny after the 10th time a day so sure come and sample try and taste but go buy the 1.50 hot dog for actual lunch.
