Default re: Costco ~ What do you buy...

Since I have been couponing I haven't bought as much there, but these things still seem cheaper most of the time:

Sunmaid Raisins
Quaker Old Fashioned Oats
Nestle Chocolate Chips
Tide (depends, but generally if you use the Costco coupon, it's cheaper)
Forever stamps (not cheaper but they count toward the cash back on the Amex)
Water softener salt
Gas
Bananas (usually cheaper than grocery)
Produce
Generic Allergy Medicine (Zyrtec)

I used to buy frozen chicken breasts but Krogers often has sales for $1.78/lb which is cheaper per pound than Costco's Perdue Frozen chicken.

We sometimes buy canned soda when there is a coupon. This is one of those random things--sometimes you can get a better sale somewhere else. But we go through a lot of soda over here so even when I stock up we sometimes need more.

We have bought some good Tillamook cheese there--much better quality than a regular store brand but too pricey for me to use everyday for the kids.

I've heard a lot of people say their prices on nuts are really good. We don't buy them around here because I have a serious weakness for cashews. =)

I wanted to add that their prices on meat are usually pretty good. I like to use ground sirloin and their ground beef is 88% lean so pretty much it is ground sirloin. It is hard to beat their price.

Also, we love their birthday/special occasion cakes. They are super cheap and much better than grocery store cakes. =)

For us its: Caprisun (cheaper that even the best sale at our grocer), fruit cups, milk, cheese, eggs, Lysol wipes with coupon, carters jammies, quite a few deals on clothes and household goods. Like the poster above love their cakes best deal around for serving a big crowd. Meat is great quality and their produce is always flavorful. Water is a good deal if you buy bottled water. I live within waling distance so we always get thier gas cheapest in the area.

I buy everything possible on coupon and if it's not printed on a coupon, but I know they've had one in the past, I wait until it prints.

We get:
Gain laundry detergent
Costco Fabric Softener
Cascade Liquid dishwasher detergent
Clorox bleach tabs for your toilet
Cottonelle wipeys
Veggie Patties
Milk
Salad Greens
Strawberries
Canned mushrooms
Canned chicken broth
Shredded cheese (A HUGE bag for $3.95)
Garbage Bags
Shampoo and conditioner
Lever 2000 (which lasts 6 months for us)
Dove Soap bars
Neutrogena body wash
Stacy's Pita Chips
Gogurts
100 calorie packs
Bottled Water
Medications (GasX, Aleve, Antacids)
Childrens Vitamins
Pam cooking spray
Bounce dryer sheets
Sponges
Paper towels
Bandaids

And since I have no medical insurance, we use their pharmacy b/c they are the cheapest in town. No one here will match prices with Costco.

I don't have a Costco, but I don't shop at Sam's Club (which we do have) either!

However, I was on the Costco website one day, and found out you could buy a coffin there. That was enough to keep me away from there forever!

One stop shopping even after death.

I love costco. I was addicted to there and went weekly prior to couponing. I still go there for Milk, Ground beef in the freezer section (convenient), Spam, Birthday cakes (they are sooo good) and other things I can't think of right now LOL.

granola bars
olive oil(hands down cheapest)
chocolate chips
A-1(can never find Q's and it so rarely goes on sale)
2 pack big bottles of Newman's own dressing
HUGE bag of croutons
Vanilla extract
Thinking about getting some boxes of diapers and wipes
Organic milk

organic chicken stock
Kirkland environmentally friendly laundry soap-really like this
next time-same but the dish soap too, I get sick of ultra smelly dish soap

My favorite thing at Costco is the roasted chickens! HUGE and the best tasting around. (even better than my homemade roasted rotisserie chickens!)
