Gymboree ~ Long Shot here - Returns without a Receipt? Season of clothing?

My DD got as a gift an outfit from Gymboree and it still has the tags on it. The thing is that it doesn't fit DD and it's now for the wrong season. I don't know anything about Gymboree other than what I've read. I don't have a receipt or a gift receipt and it would be very hard to got it from the giver (I don't know them and DH doesn't want to ask). Does anyone know what season this was from? Can I still take it back without a receipt? It is a plain pink shirt long sleeves and a matching jumper that is pink and it's plaid with a huge bow in the middle - it's kinda on the short side (the length of the jumper/dress). (If I can figure out how to upload a photo here - I'll do so). Anyone know off hand? Thanks!

I think Gymboree will do a return without a receipt but you get the current price --if it is last season chances are it will be a clearance price! I'm sure if you call your local store they would tell you their policy and even look up the price via the UPC--
then you could decide whether to return or sell it!
