CHAT Gymboree ~ Poll: Do you accessorize, or not?

I'm one of those scary people that tends to buy all the matching accessories. Yesterday I went to pick my DD up from preschool, and another Mother and the teacher were laughing (in a kind way, thankfully) about Lili always being matching from head-to-toe. They told me they wondered how I kept it all organized!

I just wondered if others bought accessories, and if so are they the matching ones?

It helps that Lili LOVES watches, necklaces, hats, purses...anything girly. It's pretty funny, I was such a tomboy, I never thought I'd have a girly-girl.

Just to hammer in the "matching" fact, I'm sending Lili to preschool in this outfit (unless it's really cold):

I marked no, waste of money. For right now it is as my DD hates anything on her. She just now has enough hair at 19 months so put a small clip on top and she pulls it right back out. She won't wear head bands either.

I hope she grows out of this stage soon so I can buy matching accessories!

I don't buy Gymboree for my girls but I do accessorize. I make girls accessories. My girls have over 200 bows to match all of their outfits. They also never leave the house unless they match from head to toe.

I voted maybe. I usually buy the clothes I like first. Then when the accessories go on clearance I might buy some. I usually buy either hair curlies or clips and socks to match whatever lines I am buying. I never buy necklaces, bracelets or watches but have several purses, hairbands, visors, sunglasses and hats to match assorted outfits from Gymboree that I have purchased for less than $2 each. That's pretty much my cut-off price for accessories. If I end up with several outfits from one line and no hairthings I will order M2M bows. I don't care for their shoes as they seem to be fairly low quality but I will buy them when they go really cheap, like the yellow flats from the spring line for $1.99.

Cute outfit! I dont accessorize much. For one it costs too much money and they outgrow things so quickly. My daughter also loses everything anyways. I love the clothes at gymboree but dont buy much there anymore. I did more when my son was little. He was my first and I look back at how much money I spent on his clothes Now I usually shop at target and old navy or whatever is on sale.

I can't even accessorize myself! Never been into it, just not a girly-girl. Now my DD, on the other hand, she's a girly-girl. She'll be doing my accessories in another 10 years-she's four.

Same way with my daughter and I. I was never a girly-girl. My DD, though, she loves necklaces, purses, hats, watches, tutus, fairy wands...etc, etc. It's kinda funny. :D

One thing I like about accessories (necklaces, hair curlies, purses, etc), is that I often manage to get the same line in a larger size when it goes to clearance. So she almost always reuses the accessories.

DD always has a bow in her hair that matches her outfit, but I just have about a half dozen solid colored bows and another half dozen polka dot bows that I can use with anything. So I usually don't buy the bows at Gymboree because I know she already has a bow to match. I also make sure her socks match her outfit, but again, I don't necessarily buy them at Gymboree to match the outfit. DD is only 16 months, so she's too young to really accessorize with anything else.

I voted maybe too!! I have a boy and I am a Gymboree junkie!!:) I have it a bit easier than you gals with girls--matching for me usually only means socks or underwear. Although in the summer lines I will include sunglasses and sometimes shoes (sandals mostly)

I really do love when every thing matches but will not go crazy--I try to wait unless it is super duper cute until is is marked down and I have a coupon so sometimes I don't get the matchings so that is why I put maybe.

Great thread OP!!:)
