The carrot and the stick

Tonight, the carrot was Great Value coffee. The 13 oz can is now $2.22. The stick they hit me with tonight was the Sam's Choice 2-ltr soft drinks. They're now $0.78. I don't even really like the 3 varieties they offer in diet. But, I tolerated the diet Twist-Up and Diet Dr Thunder because of the $0.67 price. Seriously, I think that $0.11 increase pushed me into buying that product elsewhere, since their price is now a whole $0.01 cheaper than Rite Aid. Rite Aid doesn't sell diet. But, they have regular cream soda that everyone else likes. Winn-Dixie is $0.22 more. But, they have diet in every variety and a diet cream soda that is liquid heaven. I guess, i'll be buying what I actually like, from now on - LOL

Yeah..I noticed the price increase on the soda last week, coffee was down to $2.07 though. If you have a Kroger their price is still $.67 each for the 2 liters.

I haven't bought soda at WM in almost two years because of the prices. I'd rather purchase name brand, especially in the 12 packs. I paid 1.50 each last night for Coke 12 packs compared to what I was paying for WM Dr Thunder (not that its not a great copy). We normally pay .89 on average for 2ltrs since DH is less inclined to drink those in copies.
