My local BB&B store started refusing expired coupons early in 2008. They told me that directive came from Corporate. I assumed that they meant corporate did not allow them to accept them anymore, but from what I am reading in this thread, I think maybe corporate now leaves it up to store managers to decide whether or not they want to allow customers the privilege of using expired coupons in their store. I think maybe I will call corporate and see what they say. Personally, I could see a business losing lots more money by refusing the expired coupons. Marketing experts say that it is better to sell 100 of something for $20 each ($2000) than selling only 50 of something for $30 ($1500). Have a great week to all of you!!

The Centerville, Oh store still takes them. We used 4 last week.

Before you guys go tossing those coupons in the trash you better call your local store and confirm the policy........... maybe some of the stores will continue to honor them ;)

I am pretty sure that they aren't supposed to take them anymore. I mystery shop for this company and part of the job requirement is to present an expired coupon to see if they take it, because they are not supposed to do that.

I don't get the big fuss...it's not like they don't send these coupons every week anyways. You might not be able to combine them as easily now, but, it's not like they're not taking coupons at all anymore. IMHO, I thought it was a bad move anyways for them to take expired coupons. A business expects to loose money when they create their own coupons and distribute them, but also helps to make it up later when that customer comes back to purchase some (overpriced) item and doesn't have a coupon. But when a customer has tons of expired coupons that they are stockpiling, then the business will never gain money from that customer. In order for them to make money and revenue then they need to limit coupon usage. Just because you pay $10 for an item and the company gets that $10, doesn't mean that's what goes in their pocket. They might only get like $2 or $3 from that $10 purcahse, meaning that the coupon is costing more than what they are getting back.

I was just there today and asked the girl at customer service and she said that they will always honor their own coupons...they are just stopping with Linens and things.

We were just there and used 2 of the coupons, don't know the expiration date but they were expired and they took them without any problems

I was in there today and my store is still accepting expired. The one I dug out of my coupon binder expired in May 2007 and they didn't have any problems taking it. I can't believe I had it that long. I guess that shows how often I actually shop in that store...

My Mom and I were there yesterday and our store took the expireds with no problem! The cashier told us that they have heard that they might stop doing them, but nothing has come through corp to them stating that. They heard from customers that they might stop, not through BB&B!!!!!! This was in Ft. Wayne Indiana!

I was at BB&B yesterday in N. Attleboro, Ma and they are taking expired coupons. I asked the cashier if they were going to stop taking them, and was told the coupons they were going to stop taking are any from LNT`s after Feb. 28/09
