If you return it to the same store, I don't think you should have a problem. If you do, I'd pop a quick email to customer service.
I bought an item (pants) and it did not come with a price tag - I guess someone pulled it off or something I'm not sure. I specifically asked the store employees etc if I would be able to return it without the tag before buying it since this is only the 2nd time that I've ever purchased anything from CP. They said it was ok as long as I have the original receipt or gift receipt. So I went ahead and purchased it. I came home and happen to be reading the receipt about returns and it said that sales tags are needed? URGH... am I going to have a problem b/c I do happen to need to return this pair of pants? Just my luck. TIA.

Well, I've worked there off and on for about 5 years, and that shouldn't be an issue at all! It happens all the time:) If anyone does give you crap about it, definetly email corporate!!! TCP has one of the most generous return policies that I know of. You even have 6 months!
We accept returns with or without the tags. I've actually thought that our return policy is rather silly sometimes in that it costs the company a ton of money; for example, last Easter, a lady came in with an Easter dress to return, she had the receipt (she had bought the dress the first week of march) but no tags, AND there was coke spilled down the entire front of the dress! Her excuse? "We found another dress at Dillards for her to wear and she didn't need this one" We had to return it and give her money back, but put the dress in the damaged bin-$40 down the drain. That said, yes, we will take it back.
My best financial advice?Tithe. The more I give, the more I am blessed!
I LOVE TCP 6 month return policy, because I have bought a season ahead and then saw that it wasn't going to fit so I was able to return it with the tags still on though! However, it's people like her that are going to ruin such a nice return policy for the rest of us. Returning a new garment without the tags is one thing, but I think that if it is stained or OBVIOUSLY worn then employees should be able to refuse it.

Wow! I wouldn't have returned the dress for her! Damaged is one thing, but bringing back something that you stained is crazy!!!
Ok, thanks everyone for your responses - I'll see what happens in my store. I was going over receipts since I just went to another TCP today and noticed that the cashier put it in 2 items as Layette (the ones without the tags) - so how are they going to what it is? I will be going back to the exact same store where I purchased it. It's the 0-3 powder pink reversible pants.. I paid $5.99 and it is now $2.99 (I checked the current price online). I better get back the $5.99. Wish me luck.

You should get back what you paid. They're usually pretty good about that:)
