Trader Joes ~ TJ's use your own bag...

My TJ's is entering you into a contest if you use your own bag...ANY bag. You can win a Trader Joe's gift card. Everytime you go in and use your own bags they enter you for the weekly drawing. My store is in IL, but other stores are probably doing it too just thought I'd let others know. It also helps the environment.

The TJ's in my area do it too. I'm in NorCal and I know that the SF Bay Area stores have the same promo running. One of the cashiers said that it could even be a back pack.

I used my own bags this past weekend. One is a special grocery cart bag I have that is huge and fabric and the other was just some tj's paper ones, but like you said they told me any kinds of bags at all. I was entered so I'll keep my fingers crossed to win.

The other thing at TJ's that the kids like is to find TJ the monkey. He "hides" all around the store, and if you find him and tell a staff person, you'll get a special reward. Usually they offer a banana or an apple, or a piece of fruit leather.

Kids are great at this game.

We have a chickens at our trader. My kids found him last time we were there and they got a small toy each out of the treasure box. Out trader always has samples and they let the kids take one of each sample. They also give out stickers at ours. If I say "Who wants to go to Trader Joe's?" It's a loud unanimous "MEEEE!!" LOL

My TJ's is doing again 2008 - SoCal so, I take as many reusable bags everytime we shop there, haven't won anything yet but it's still one of my fav places to shop.
